A question about carbs and gluten
« on: January 28, 2012, 10:16:45 PM »
Hi, I'm a newbie to the Paleo lifestyle but am currently reading "Wheat Belly" (Davis) and "The Primal Blueprint" (Sissons) and understand the importance of removing wheat from the equation, my question has to do with carbs, as in something like organic, gluten free couscous, it has a high carbohydrate content but no gluten, is it okay to eat this on the Primal diet?

I'm glad I found this forum.  :D

It's about removing grains, legumes, dairy and sugar. Gluten is only part of the picture. I liked couscous too - but it's wheat and as you've said, you understand about why you should remove it.

Vegetables and fruits contain carbs and this is where you get your carbs from.

You should get the same response at MDA.
