Eating chicken bones?
« on: June 30, 2011, 10:53:15 PM »
Anyone know if its okay to eat chicken bones? I ate one and it tasted pretty good. Obviously it didn't shatter or I wouldn't have eaten it but any dangers with it?

Not sure about with humans, but with dogs and cats the danger is from cooked bones splintering.  I feed my dog raw bone-in chicken all the time with no issues.

I've eaten a couple chicken bones that were used to make stock - they're so soft after hours of cooking that I can chew them without splintering.

This ^^^.

Also, I haven't eaten many bones, usually stick to brains and small children...

Small children have brains?
