Too much almond in my diet?
« on: July 26, 2016, 08:27:07 AM »
Hello all, I'm a first-timer here and started paleo one month ago. My question is whether or not I'm consuming too much almond in my diet? For breakfast, I typically have a grain-free cereal with almond milk, lunch is an egg-white protein shake with almond butter and almond milk, and I typically snack on a handful of chocolate-covered almonds in the afternoon. Dinner contains no almonds.

I'm feeling really good on the paleo diet so I don't want to overdo it. Any suggestions or observations would be appreciated. Thanks!

I don't know what version of "paleo" you are following. Cereal? Almond milk? Protein shakes? Where did you get your info, USA Today?

Hey pirate -

I think if it's working for you no worries.  The phytic acid is only an issue in almonds if you don't soak them but you aren't eating a ton of raw ones.   And yes, almonds are Paleo.
