I am starting to think this guy is just trolling for a reaction...

It appears to be deteriorating from a discussion to an argument. We can ignore him or I can remove his posts. It depends on what other regular posters here feel about it. His very first post back on June 17, 2008 was anti-paleo.

I think he just wants to ruffle feathers - not have a real conversation. I vote to remove his posts.

First off wheat cannot and should not be considered junk food--  tomaotes aint, dairy aint, either...these core ingredients make a healthy pizza... the same goes with pasta....these staple foods like rice corn wheat potoes....are nutritious dont you agree? anyone agree? If not, then please state your case...
Well, to me is as simple as this. I eat what your are saying is super nutritious, and my acne gets much much worse. I eat paleo and my acne gets better. I have been doing paleo for about a month and 3 weeks and I have seen continuous (but slow) improvement ever since the first month passed.

I've no idea why your good food has this reaction on me (well I do, but it isn't worth discussing here) but I get a benefit from paleo. I would agree that this is not for everyone, it takes a lot of will at the beginning, being open-minded throughout, and a bit of luck to get the right guidance.

If you live happier doing something else, go ahead. I think there are multiple ways of still keep in health. While I believe this is the best diet for me and although studies have shown better results with people following this diet, something like the Mediterranean diet is considered healthy and would allow the foods you mention.

If you don't understand why those foods are not optimal (I am not talking about good or bad, but optimal) then you would gain some knowledge from reading a book on Paleo dieting and watching http://cavemanforum.com/index.php?topic=1446.0 (not paleo, but low-carb in general).

If it didn't work for you: great, change. But don't be troll.

Dont you guys miss all the bigmacs, fires tacos ,rice , corn, all these delicious foods?...most likely.  by the way just to tell you something intersting: theres a tribe out there -forget what they were called- I think somewhere in mexico...but their main diet consists of corn and they are called by the name "running tribe" and they are probably the best long distance runners in the world(they run continusly for 500 miles+)  and they survive not on mostly meat but on corn!...and they live in caves...It was on  the Daily show...tamarac maybe...
Some people do 80:20 paleo, and eat those foods sparingly (with the 20%). So far I don't mind the 100% paleo.

Btw, I think you are talking about the Tarahumara tribe. And? There are obviously people who do amazing things with their bodies and are not eating paleo, one only has to open a sports magazine. This doesn't prove any point. And for a note, native americans are (or were, for that matter) a civilization and are not considered paleolithic.

I disagree!
My diet pre-paleo was;
B-fast- 5 egg whites, 1 whole egg cooked in non-stick pan/broiled bacon on racks/ 3 slices of homemade multi-grain toast w/butter/ fresh or dried fruit

snack- snickers bar or homemade GORP

lunch- 2 PB & J made with Adams All Natural Peanut Butter/ Homemade jam or preserves on homemade bread

snack- 12 ozs. of broiled lean meat/ brown rice or potatoes/ steamed veggies

dinner- similar to above

late night snack- egg white sandwich

I ate desserts once or twice a week as my GF was testing recipes for work.

I was ALWAYS hungry. My bodyfat was in excess of 15-20% (I'm a pro backcountry snowboarder) and my asthma ruled my life! :( I struggled with hypo-glycemia. I was suffering with insomnia caused by sleep apnea since I was a kid and later made worse by PTSD. I had radical mood swings with intense anger. It goes on and on  ::)

Now-
B-fast- 6 whole eggs fried in pork, beef or chicken fat/ fruit +++

Lunch- 1.5 lbs. of meat or fish/ fruit and/or veggies cooked in meat fat

Dinner- 1.5-2 lbs. of meat or fish/ veggies cooked in meat fat

Occasionally I have craved anti-oxidant rich fruits and berries at night after particularly tough training days. I have fixed this by gorging on grapes, berries, cherries etc.. immediately after tough training.

My asthma is a non-issue.

My recovery rates are far better than ever!

My energy levels are superior to most of my friends 10yrs. my junior and they are stable.

I sleep deeper and wake up ready to go!

My moods are super stable and I'm a lot nicer to be around. ;D

My body fat has dropped to about 10-12%.

It's been a win-win for me! Physiologically I am only 5 generations from my hunter/gatherer ancestors. My only regret is that I didn't know about this when I was still a professional fighter. :-\

Wheat, tomatoes and dairy are not healthy.  That's a good recipe for an autoimmune disease like MS.

Are you trying to say pizza or pasta is healthy?  I don't think so.

No, I don't agree. Sorry, I don't think you'll find anyone on a Paleo forum to agree with you. Your theory that eating "whatever you want" just as long as it's just one big meal before bedtime just doesn't really have anything to do with Paleo. Maybe you should try a fasting forum for the kind of camaraderie you are looking for?

Delicious WHERE?

bigmacs = never eaten one in my life, I've never been at McDonalds and I don't see a reason for going
fires tacos = never eaten that as well
rice = not at all, it was always so hard to digest!
corn = never liked it

no...i am not trying to ruffle feathers but asking sharing my experiences and asking good question i believe...and maybe help someone

Do you think you could be able to post your comments in ONE post instead of making a serie of consecutive posts? That's so annoying.
Troll...

You aren't truth just like as nobody is, learn that.

Oh, I've got an idea, why don't you sit and write down all your silly ideas then you send it to an editor. All kinds of people now are selling diet books, you could make a lot of money with what you say.

I don't think you'll find anyone here who "hates" Paleo. I don't miss eating cheap crappy food when I can have grassfed ribeye! :D

And get sued a few years down the track by all his readers who now have diabetes. Or by their families because they are now dead from heart attacks.

I was getting out of class with my buddies and decided to go to checkers. I went with them but did not eat. They spent around $7 each. I told them to stop by the market for a second, grabbed myself half a pound of skirt steak (with the money I would have spent) and made it in the grill. They were kind of jealous :)

I've been to McDonalds once - and it left a real impression.

I was around 6 years old and my family was on a road trip to Seattle. We didn't travel much and it was the first time I had eaten fast food. My dad hunts and we always had a really large garden in the summer. Anyway we are on the road and the kids (four of us) saw a McDonalds and begged our parents to stop. What I really wanted was the happy meal toy and I didn't think much about what I would have to eat to get it. We did know that if we asked for something we did have to eat it though.

We finally convinced my parents to take us to McDonalds. So there we are sitting in the back of the suburban eating our happy meals. I remember that it tasted terrible. The car was silent as we tried to get down the food we had pleaded to have. Perhaps I shouldn't use the word "food" because our bodies certainly didn't recognize it as food and our tummies rejected it before I could even finish the burger. There we were - a cute little family on vacation - all of us throwing up in the McDonalds parking lot. We of course never asked for fast food again.

-and the reason lots of people suffer from heart attacks is because they were probably overweight and not excercising or more importantly i believe,  simply ate too much and too often food.
People who eat too much are just "following their taste buds", too.  Looks like your advice leads exactly to the results you decry.

Paleo adjusts our taste buds so we can eat what we want without getting fat.

I'm not sure we want to set a precedent of stifling discussion through moderation.  We can just ignore him if it becomes clear that he's only trolling.

Uh ... delicious?  I think you're confused.  Who would want a disgusting big mac or taco when we can have a truly delicious steak, with some heavenly onions or mushrooms sauteed in grass fed tallow?
