Meal Sizes?
« on: January 22, 2012, 04:19:31 AM »
Right now I am eating  large meals for breakfast and lunch and a smaller one for dinner.  I have heard that it is better to eat small meals throughout the day and feast heavy at night?  Is this true?  I am just wondering what your takes are on this and how you size your meals?  Thanks for any advice!

It doesn't really matter.  Just eat when it's convenient for you.  If you are trying to lose weight it's your total calories at the end of the day that really matter.  Once I tried only concerning myself with end of the week totals and that works too.

Calories matter very little for fat loss in fact :/ For that the vast, vast majority of people react well to a very low carb diet. But like geek said when you eat is pretty unimportant for the most part.

You've probably heard about warrior-diet or intermittent fasting. With paleo eating there's two main camps:

a) Eat when you are hungry.
b) Practice intermittent fasting and force yourself to eat erratically, sometimes several hours (16 - 24) apart.

(b) is mostly recommended to those who have trouble losing weight, and to everyone at least once in a while.

Any idiot can get on a treadmill and watch TV and then take great pride in the fact they've exercised.
