After having spent the last couple years getting my low carb lifestyle together, making the transition to paleo hasn't been too extremely difficult however there is one thing thats very hard to kick and that is my daily coffee addiction. For someone who isn't likely to quit the caffeine is coffee still the best way to go? I may try to substitute for something a little easier on my stomach like mate or green tea. Does anyone else still drink coffee or other caffeine drinks?

Roasted dandeliion root with roasted chicory and roasted acorns ..mix , boil it and there you have it coffee before there was coffee !..and its good for you !
My grandad used to make it fresh and it was wonderful....you can get ready made from health food stores....hope that helps....ist more with the paleo life style.
Although paleo man might have had other exotic blends, some barks can be boiled and drunk...

I used to drink diet coke frequently, probably my only source of caffeine. On the paleo diet, I started drinking hot tea, particulary when the weather was cold, and I've almost eliminated soda. I didn't even intend to get off diet coke, it's just that there are so many really good flavors of tea and it's paleo.
Even if you can't stop drinking coffee, something like tea may cut down your consumption.

Tea counts as paleo because it's vegetable (leaves). You can get caffeine from tea as long as you don't add things like milk or sugar.

I continue to drink coffee, because there are many types of teas that contain complex starches, and I avoid those.
I am unapologetic on the coffee front.
