Printable paleo foods list
« on: February 11, 2010, 08:23:53 PM »
I'm wondering if any one has a nice PDF or something that I could print out of paleo diet foods and not allowed foods. In my family, my significant other will sometimes conveniently forget the food I don't eat and prepare dishes with stuff that I don't really want to eat but sometimes do out of hunger, or a feeling that I don't want to reject food.

If I have a list on the refrigerator, it's kind of hard to pretend you don't know what's on there.

A list of what you can't eat is shorter and Tarlach has one in his signature I think. However for the less strict no grains, dairy, rice, potato should do it.

My wife's sig is a bit more detailed:

But I like to keep it a bit more generic.  Some of the specifics fall into gray areas  ;)

What you can eat is pretty short, too:  fresh meat, fruit, vegetables, eggs, small amounts of unroasted nuts and honey.

I have been doing paleo without fruits and very little nuts. My shopping is amazingly simple.

Well yeah but a short list of what you can't eat sounds far more appealing.

Tarlach, your wife's list has helped me a lot. Thanks.

I've actually noticed that I tend to over-do the nuts, so have steered away from them. I still buy some but try to treat them like a "desert".
