This site is AWESOME for Vitamin D.  Links to articles and whatnot!  I don't know him from a hole in the ground but he has Q&A and articles and makes sense!

Yes, it's the best source of vitamin D. I posted this previously in the vitamin D thread under "Vitamins", but I'll post it here too. It's a vitamin D by sun calculator:

This calculator is brilliant! It's certainly helped me to get a better idea of how long I should be in the sun for :)

I found this. I don't believe we have them here in UK though.

Does anyone use Cod LIver Oil for their vitamin D?  If so is it a better source?

Lately I have been wanting to eat a lot of organ meat, liver, gizzards, etc.  I believe they have vitamin D, I wonder if I have been wanting them because I am lacking it this time of year.

I've taken to having a teaspoon of vitamin D on days when I get no sun.  Basically that means days when I do the commute with the convertible top up.

I'd be careful with cod liver oil, as it is very high in vitamin A (which is easy to get from food).

I've mentioned this once before, but it bears repeating:

Be careful with RDA numbers.  Some are very low, the smallest number of item X needed to avoid Y serious affliction and make a man fit for army service.

Translation:  there is often a HUGE gap between bare minimum and optimal

I totally agree, especially with vitamin D.  But, I'm more careful with vitamin A.
