100 push ups are great as long as you balance it out with 100 inverted rows, 100 chinups, 100 handstand push ups, 100 bodyweight squats and heavy deadlifts. If you don't balance it out you'll develop a strength imbalance, which will lead to a structural disfunction and injury of some kind.

Kettlebell swings aren't a bad idea either.

Sorry - I just wanted to know what you thought of their progressions.

@wlfdg - I've never worried that I can't pull myself up to balance pushups or squats for instance.

The progressions are great, solid HFT (high frequency training) model.

I did that for a while just for fun one summer but got bored.  I don't think it was really good for me either, ended up with shoulder pain for a bit

I meant that I wasn't concerned about balancing these exercises with the others you mentioned, but was just looking at their program in isolation. I am thinking about changing my rates of progression based on what I've seen on this site.

Interested in your comment Eric as I have spinal and arm damage that I have to work around but I need upper body strength. I like stuff where I keep my back straight.
