Amosovís 1000 Movements for Joint Mobility
« on: May 13, 2010, 12:07:29 PM »
I discovered this through Pavel Tsatsouline's book Super Joints which covers join mobility exercises. I had juvenile rheumatoid arthritis when I was a child, and my joints are in bad shape as an adult. I've been looking for a good joint mobility routine, and this seems fairly decent.

Pavel's book, however, has the first routine that this article lists as the "old one". He also suggests starting off with reps equal to your age, and increasing 10 per week up to the maxes.

Additionally, it appears Amosov liked the toe squats which everyone is so afraid of. I wonder if this is on purpose or not...

Dr. Nikolay Amosov was a surgeon in the Soviet Union during and after World War II. He became interested in how the bodyís systems related to each other, and he came to realize that the human body is capable of regenerationóbut only if it gets used regularly.

This is the second time I've posted something here and Mark Sisson has posted on the exact same topic within the hour. I think he's stalking me!

Then again, you and Mark could be just different personalities in the same body.  Just to be sure, take a bingo marker and stamp yourself on your forehead.  Take a pic and post it online.  If Mark posts within the hour and doesn't have the bingo marker stamp, file a restraining order.  If he has the bingo marker stamp, clean out his bank accounts and go on a cruise.  Win win.
