Really great article on training with complexes. Chris Shugart drops a few "F Bombs".  ;)http://www.tmuscle.com/free_online_article/sports_body_training_performance/screw_cardio_four_complexes_for_a_shredded_physique

Interesting, long term i find hitting the pavement or treadmill really tedious!

Looks worth contemplating, am so unfit that with back squats cardiovascular failure is still seemingly common... Also cutting up seems much more desirable ("healthly" achievable) on Paleo.

Anyway thanks for sharing! 8)

This is why I am asking-
http://www.tmuscle.com/free_online_article/sports_body_training_performance_bodybuilding/3_reasons_to_lift_explosively
Oh ok the answer is no. ???

Am rather hesitant to lift maximum (one set) weight explosively myself, after many years my little old tendons are all healed up! ;)

Ok, so I did Tumminello's with a kettlebell as fast as I could.

I am pouring sweat and just managed to get off the floor.

Hm. I think I'm gonna start lifting explosively. Especially my pushups, maybe that'll increase my work capacity and build a bit more muscle. :D

Nice!!!!!! I have a sandbag complex article somewhere? I'll post the link for it when I find it.

I love it! I'm not able to handle maximum poundages of course. The 2-3 count down and 1 count up is tough! On the Olympic lifts I have to take a step back between reps and clear my head. ;D  On squats I disengage the stretch response by holding the bottom position for a 2 count and driving up.

Damn exercise I'm not used to.  I'm now getting a tiny bit of tingling in the back of my left calf when walking.  I'm hoping I have just inflamed my piriformis and don't have a bad case of sciatica  :(

Hopefully it will go away after a couple of days of rest...

Hav you done a figure4 stretch?

I tried something similar, but probably not not long enough.  Just did the figure 4 for 30 seconds (I'll do it a few times over the day).

I'm pretty sure it's my piriforus.  If I sort of stick my fingers under it (well somewhere there anyway) and lift while I walk, I think the symptoms stop.  It's just hard to walk normally while pulling a cheek in your hand ;)

... hmm, I wonder if I have aggravated my piriformus by sitting at work with my leg on my knee and doing a sitting figure 4?  Might be better off just leaving it alone?

There is another stretch you can try with PaleoMum's help.
Lay prone, bend your affected leg 90 degrees, PaleoMum kneels at your side, holds your ankle and rotates the leg out away from the mid line and hold for 20ct.. Then she rotates it all the way in, pin heel of other hand on greater trochanter and rotate out again and hold for 20ct. repeat 3 X on last rep hold for 90sec.
