confusion
« on: January 31, 2010, 12:31:24 PM »
I am confused about what exercise i should be doing (i have not done any properly for about 11 years now). I am currently walking everywhere i go and goign on the wii fit plus for an hour a day doing the aerobic and training plus things on it. i have also started the running on it. Somehow i still feel like i am not exercising properly. I can't afford the gym. I have brought a skipping rope today and was thinking of going in the garden and doing that as well as the walking and wii fit. Any suggestions.

thanks Amy

I can't even begin to say what are the 'best' exercises to do.  I like HIIT because I get a good workout in less time.  I also like strength training.

I also find benefit in circuit training for the strength and cardio component together.

OK Babes, You ready?
Supplies-
2 Buckets 18-19 liters
1 big rock heavy enough to make it tough to lift to your chest
skipping rope
grassy area 40meters long
egg timer
water

Resistance Workout-
Fill buckets with water so they are heavy to lift and carry set at one end of 40m.

Set timer for 20min.
Pick rock from ground to chest and toss with both hands from chest as high and as far as you can. Quickly move to it and continue for no less than the 40m. Do this back and forth for the full 20min.
Quickly go to the buckets and carry them one in each hand as fast as you can for 40m.

HIIT-
Set timer for 20min. Skip rope as fast as you can until you are out of breath rest long enough to just catch your breath and start skipping again, etc... for 20min.
Focus on single skips. Don't double skip.

Alternate days between wii, resistance and skipping.

One day a week don't workout.
