I don't know why I didn't think of this sooner. I need to be able to improve my time for my 1.5 mile run. I was trying to run 3-4 times a week and then do HIIT 1-2 times also. It was too much, of course, and now my knee is bugging me.
SO yesterday I ran for the Warrior Run. Today I did some weight lifting then 5 minutes on the treadmill doing sprint intervals.
I want to do the HIIT like tabata protocol, but I kept thinking i had to do it on teh bike or elliptical.
Until today. I realized I can go tot the track, do 5 minutes of a comfortable run, 5 minutes of srint intervals and 5 minutes of a comfortable run for cool down. I would be doing more than the typical protocol but I would be able to get in my running so I can do bette ron my test AND my HIIT in one workout. Then I can use my other workout time for things I like.
