Duh!!!!
« on: January 28, 2010, 03:51:02 PM »
I don't know why I didn't think of this sooner.  I need to be able to improve my time for my 1.5 mile run.  I was trying to run 3-4 times a week and then do HIIT 1-2 times also.  It was too much, of course, and now my knee is bugging me.

SO yesterday I ran for the Warrior Run.  Today I did some weight lifting then 5 minutes on the treadmill doing sprint intervals.

I want to do the HIIT like tabata protocol, but I kept thinking i had to do it on teh bike or elliptical.

Until today.  I realized I can go tot the track, do 5 minutes of a comfortable run, 5 minutes of srint intervals and 5 minutes of a comfortable run for cool down.  I would be doing more than the typical protocol but I would be able to get in my running so I can do bette ron my test AND my HIIT in one workout.  Then I can use my other workout time for things I like.  ;D

I have been doing Tabata both with sprints and the elliptical, and sprints are way way harder. Nearly dead at the end of the sprints, while the elliptical doesn't phase me too much.
The answer to your question is 'eat more fat'.

Stop counting calories. If you are eating Paleo, there is usually no need.

If you are having weight loss issues, it'd be a good idea to start posting a detailed food journal, then everyone can help.

'Anecdotal Evidence' is an oxymoron.

Good job, Airman.
Take time to deliberate, but when the time for action has arrived, stop thinking and go in.
