Excersize: Before or After Eating ???

Hi All. I just completing day 3 of this new lifestyle (refuse to call it a diet). Here is my food schedule:



6:30 wakeup16oz of water
7:30am Breakfast (1fruit serving or fruit smoothie)
8:00am Coffee (black no sugar but with Splenda)
Water Lots of water
12:00-1:00 Lunch (almonds & walnuts)
Walter lots of water
more water
6pm exercise(1 hour cardio, will incorporate weights soon) 
8pm Eat Chicken breast till full & lots of greens
more water
11pm bed.

My question: Is it better to exercise Before or After my once a day meal???

Working out in a fasted state has some benefits if you want to build strength/muscle (ie. increases HGH), but you should go all day without food (not eat carbs for breakfast, etc) to take advantage of it.

On days I workout:

7am coffee (black no sugar)
4pm workout for ~40 mins
6pm dinner - 2lb of meat

Cardio is a waste of time and effort (unless you are training for a specific cardio event).  Get into the weights (even just do push-ups and pull-ups) and drop the cardio.

• Grains (wheat/rice/oats etc) . . . . . • Dairy (milk/yogurt/butter/cheese etc)
• Refined foods (salt/sugars etc ) . . • Nightshades (peppers/tomato/eggplant)
• Tubers (potato/arrowroot etc) . . . . • Legumes (soy/beans/peas)
• Modernly palatable (cashews/olives etc)

So I understand correctly, you only eat 2lbs of meat a day and NO snacks or other meals?  This is my 3rd day and any tips & advice would be helpful.  Thanks for the cardio tip !

I do on workout day.  The day after working out I just eat whenever I am hungry.

Other days are one or the other depending on how I feel.

Cardio- Ditch it!
Try this, first thing in the morning before b-fast set a timer for 10min. Do bodyweight squats>push ups>crunches>squats>pushups>crunches> etc... for 10min. without stopping. Do this on Mon,Wed,Fri
Squats & Push ups - down slow 2-3ct./ up fast 1ct./ as many as you can until your speed slows on the up (concentric).

Tues,Thurs,Sat- Tabata Burpees- 20sec.on 10sec.off X 8- Total 4min.

You're not eating enough.... not even close... unless you're eating an entire chicken for dinner :D

The answer to your question is 'eat more fat'.

Stop counting calories. If you are eating Paleo, there is usually no need.

If you are having weight loss issues, it'd be a good idea to start posting a detailed food journal, then everyone can help.

'Anecdotal Evidence' is an oxymoron.

I workout during fasting, I have read everywhere that you aren't supposed to run on empty, but I ytry to think the paleo way, and I think Mr Flinstone would have to go out at empty stomach to hunt for something edible if he needed it.
I know I cannot workout at full stomach because I'd vomit it all (lol, it's graphic, sorry) my workouts tend to be violent more than intense and I wouldn't be able to keep anything down.

It depends how you make it! Steamed? Yes, I agree with you. Sauteed in lard? Great! ::)
