Resistance bands are good when other options aren't available. It's hard to do rows, for example, unless you have something to pull against. Band pull-aparts work. I always carry some in my travel bag fso I can work out in my hotel room. They are also handy in the gym for adding variable resistance or assistance to some exercises. There are are also some exercises where bands are one of the most effective tools, such as face pulls. They do a very good job of hitting the rear delts and rotator cuff.
