Severe Knee Pain
« on: January 25, 2012, 05:53:15 AM »
I had severe knee pain for the past month after doing a running race that included a high bridge. It was really bad when I walked up and down stairs or after sitting for long periods. Then, I found Trigger Point Therapy for knee pain yesterday on YouTube. Today, the pain is almost gone. It's amazing. I had a knot in my quad where it attaches to the hip bone. I used a foam roller, golf ball, and thumb pressure and it was like night and day afterwards. I have been taking Animal Flex Packets and SuperCissus with no results, but my joints might be better with it. I wish I would have found out about Trigger Point Therapy a month ago. I could have saved money and pain. I love running races and I was almost to give up hope of running again.

It might have been the IT Band as well. It also causes knee pain. I have been massaging the entire leg.

A few years ago, I had a lot of TMJ (jaw) problems. I heard about trigger point therapy and bought this book:
The Trigger Point Therapy Workbook by Clair Davies and Amber Davies

It is an excellent book and I've used it to treat myself and my husband of all sorts of aches and pains. Obviously, not everything is down to trigger points (which is NOT the same as acupuncture or acupressure points), but it's amazing how many musculo-skeletal problems can be resolved using them.

Once you've discovered your scalenes,   ;) there's no going back.

I think I looked at that book yesterday at Barnes and Noble. Does it use a "S" shaped tool to purchase separately?

Very cool! I like trigger point. You should check out myofacial release as well. It works wonders on the facia on your back. Most people have really sticky facia, and having a friend that will do MFR on your back can help a LOT.
