California Caveman's Food Journal

This is my first journal posting.  I should change my user name to California Caveman.
I don't know what I was thinking when I registered as Lakeside. (except I live near a lake near the town of Lakeside)

6 strips of turkey bacon: (I know border line Paleo)
small Mandarin Orange (These are very small oranges sold by the box everywhere here in the spring. They are called "California Cutties")

I believe you can change your on screen name in the profile section if you were still wanting to change to California Caveman.  How are things going, I noticed you haven't added to your journal in awhile.  Not that I'm trying to be pushy or anything, I get lots of ideas from the food journals and find them very helpful while I'm trying to get started.

I started the journal but never did any more.  I got the theory down, but I am not that good with coming up with ideas.  I think one reason people don't stick to a healthy eating plan is they run out of ideas or don't think they have time.  Maybe someone should come up with Paleo Fast Food ideas.

I get good ideas on what to eat by reading the journals of PaleoRedHead and Kallyn.

For today, not exactly paleo.

Breakfast:  one Detour Bar and one Bora Bora Bar.

Detour bars come in two sizes: This one is the small size, 15g protien, 17 grams of carbs.  Since it is whey protein it is not paleo

Lunch: Chicken sausage, orange, Bora Bora bar

Bora Bora are organic snack bars but have some non paleo ingrediants.  The have almonds, sunflowers seeds, agave syrup, organic brown rice and peanuts.  Probably better for you than a Hershey Bar or a Milky Way, but I need to find something fast that is paleo.

If carbs don't bother you too much, see if you can find Larabars.  They are just dates, nuts, and other dried fruits.  The dates make them pretty carby, but they're a decent paleo on-the-go thing.

Glad my journal is useful.   ;D

The carbs would be OK today since I shoveled 2,000 pounds of decorative rocks into the side yard. 

I read about Larabars here a couple of months ago but got Luna Bars by mistake.  I found out I can get Larabars R.E.I.  (the camping backpacking equipment retailer)

Dinner was back to paleo:

Trader Joe's Chicken Gorgonzola
Eggplant  sautéed in olive oil.
salad: mixed greens, tomatoes, olives (olives are a bit salty)
small orange.
