Now that my menstrual cycles are back for the past 5 months, and clockwork regular at that, I feel it's safe to start reducing calories a little to lose that 'final 5 pounds' that have been bugging me for years.

I've also become a little lax with cheats and public accountability helps with that
I'm aiming for 40-60g of carbs a day, I am wary to go under this while I'm cutting calories.  Over time I may gradually reduce to 30-40g.  I've been eating 1500-1800 cals a day recently, no weight gain; I'm now looking at 1200-1300 for non-exercise days, 1500-1600 for workout days (I do 2hrs krav maga twice a week which is a mix of circuits (intense aerobic/strength conditioning), boxing, weightbearing exercise etc.)
I am having some goat diary, because the farmer told me that it's impossible to milk a goat when it's pregnant.
Wednesday night is a big night out with Mr CCG, who I've not seen for weeks, so there will be some cheating, mainly in the form of booze

Monday 8th May

Breakfast
2 eggs scrambled (1 duck 1 chicken)
2 beetroot

Lunch
2 chicken thighs, grilled
purple broccoli and asparagus

snack
large carrot with hazelnut butter

dinner
salmon, grilled
red cabbage sauteed in coconut oil
3 tblsps goat yoghurt (10% fat) with a little honey and dried goji berries

Cals: 1300, fat/protein/carbs = 52/34/14
Fat: 70g
Protein: 100g
Carbs: 45g

Hey i love reading your journal - still getting tips for my own!

Hows the weight loss going?

Thanks.
Actually I'm not looking to lose any more weight.  I'm training at the moment in Krav Maga and kickboxing, plus a little light low intensity cardio and weights, and when I train I put muscle on quite quickly so don't see any weight loss - in fact usually a gain.  I go by the tape measure and am not going to bother checking for at least another 2 weeks - I lose fat extremely slowly!  I'd be nice to lose a little but to be honest I'm not that stressed about it.  If I lose much weight all my fancy bras will no longer fit

14th may
breakfast - eggs as normal
lunch - chicken thighs x2 grilled, broccoli, asparagus, goat yoghurt
dinner - fish stew (see recipe section)

15th May -
breakfast - 1 egg, 1 slice liver, 1 piece coconut
lunch - fish stew as before, carrot, beetroot, celery, 4 macadamia nuts, 1 square 85% chocolate
dinner - persian lamb stew w spinach and sour yellow plums (see recipe section)
exercise - 2hrs krav maga class

16th May
lunch - salmon, broccoli
snack - squid, artichoke
dinner - persian lamb stew w spinach and sour yellow plums, blackberries
exercise - 1hr kickboxing (inc conditioning/bodyweights) Overall high intensity workout

17th May
breakfast - bacon, egg, sausage, black pudding, mushroom, tomato....SMASH
lunch - burger (no bun etc.), green cabbage
dinner - stew as before, smoked salmon, yoghurt, 2 dried figs, macadamias
exercise - 2hrs krav class.  Abs are killing me.  Never want to be choked from behind in real life

Well....I am hoping to lose a little fat, but I'm not obsessing over it.  It's not good for my head, eating disorders run in my family

Been keeping it pretty damn clean recently.  I tend to eat best when I'm at home (rather than travelling) Mr CCG is away (as I don't eat out).  I'm still eating goat yoghurt and sometimes raw goat cheese.  It's for the insulin spike without the carbs (and delicious)

Friday
breakfast/brunch (11am)
2 eggs, poached
1 beetroot, 1 tomato, 1 carrot
20g 85% chocolate
teas

Lunch delayed by unpleasant attack of menstrual cramps.  Have to say I didn't miss having periods!  My cramps now are not as bad as they were pre-paleo (they were beyond hellish then and accompanied by even more unpleasant 2ndary effects), but still bad enough to send me to bed curled up in a ball for 3 hours.  Tried to ride them out drug-free but they lingered and eventually I caved and had a tramadol, then slept.  Woke up hungry!

lunch/dinner (6pm)
2 small highland lamb rump steaks (grilled)
tenderstem broccoli
blackberries
1 dried fig
small serving goat yoghurt

nice rainbow of vegetables today, missing a yellow one though!

Might have my 'dinner' food (small salmon steak, some asparagus) later, if I get hungry.  Would be better to have an early night though and maybe the asparagus with one egg instead

Tomorrow........I WILL go to my 10am MMA class!! I WILL GO
