After two days, the zone diet with paleo foods is too much work. I am glad that I got the books from the library instead of buying them. I figured myself to be a "4" block guy which is low on the distribution. It's way too much food for me. I am just going to eat paleo without worrying about how much blocks of protein, carbs, and fats. I have done several dietsand the Zone Diet is a lot of work. It may get easier later, but it's not for me. I think there is too much fruit in a block.

Going to see the Ortho about my ankle on Monday. I wish it would warm into the 60s in the morning here in Florida so that I can at least ride my bike.

I just wonder if you aren't hungry all the time? That doesn't seem like very much food?

Genuine question - not a critical comment

I do intermittent fasting. Would I be conditioned not to eat as much? The past two days with Zone and Paleo, I feel like I have to force myself to eat. Maybe I should only eat twice a day? 10am and 5pm?

I thought about going back and following this: http://www.paleonu.com/get-started/

I am currently at 169.8lbs and 5'11", 41 y/o, 33" waist, and I wear a large t-shirt comfortably. I have gotten down to 163 using the Men's Health Abs Diet a few years ago, but i always craved sugar. the heaviest that I have weighed is 218lbs and a 42 waist that was about 7 years ago.

Well the food is looking better, you might want to get more fat in there though.

What are your goals?

Most on this forum have found that fat does not affect weight loss, but carbs do.

Most of my present weight-loss was ZC. It wasn't until this past week that I started adding carbs and fruit. Probably going back to VLC/ZC tomorrow until the Super Bowl.

Afternoon Snack
Sardines in Olive Oil

Dinner at Ali Gators
Caesar Salad with blackened shrimp without croutons
Two Ultra drafts (not paleo)  :-)

Thinking about have a cheat snack - ice cream. Haven't had any refined sugar or white flour since  New Years Eve.

Anyone else have cheat meals?

Sam John, are you saying that eating carbs allows for weight loss? I don't think that's what you meant because most of my reading says that more fat and less than 20% carbs helps weight loss.

For this forum, what is the standard macro ratio?

Thanks, Rob

I'm pretty sure that's what he meant. "affect" as in "negatively affect".
About macro ratios, it varies. The more carnivores are pretty close to zero carb (or are at least consistently under 50g a day). People who eat more fruit or veggies are usually ~ 100 - 150g of carbs a day. The macro ratio varies depending on total calories.

As above, my fault for not being very clear.
