Hi All,

I've been missing for a few years, and I certainly didn't stay Paleo all the time. I'm older now, more tired, and heavier. I broke down the other day, and told my partner that I've had enough. I am going back to the Paleo WOE, because it's never failed me before. I started yesterday at 222.8 lbs, at 5'10". I'm going to slowly transition into it overtime, so I won't be 100% Paleo for the first couple of weeks.

Day 1 - 222.8 lbs - 0 lbs lost

Snacks

1 handful of mixed nuts
4 apple slices with 2 tbsp of almond butter
1 slice of uncured ham
5 mini carrot sticks dipped in 2 tablespoons of tahini
1 handful of Costco Kool Ranch Kale chips

Meals

2 pork ribs with BBQ sauce
1 teriyaki chicken breast
1 cup of cauliflower
1/2 cup of green beans
2 cups of tomato soup

1 Paleo Pumpkin Spice Latte
1 Unsweetened Tropical Hibiscus Tea
1 Unsweetened Green Tea

Snacks

1 handful of Wonderful Chili Flavored Pistaschios
1 cup of mixed fruit (melon, grapes, pineapple)
5 slices of red apple dipped in 2 tablespoons of almond butter
1/2 pack of Trader Joe's Roasted Seaweed Snack
2 PaleOMG Soft & Chewy Double Chocolate Cookies http://paleomg.com/soft-chewy-double-chocolate-cookies/

Meals

1 Panera Power Steak Lettuce Wrap (Seared steak, leaf lettuce, cucumbers, diced tomatoes, red onions and basil pesto, finished with freshly squeezed lemon)

1 bowl of Lima Beans (not Paleo) with Grass Fed Butter

2 cups of coffee with unsweetened vanilla almond milk
1 glass of water mixed with Pom Cherry/Pomegranate Juice

I have to say, these remind me of the rule of thumb that "anything with 'paleo' in the name isn't paleo".  "Coconut sugar" is just sugar from an obscure source - and there's a lot of it in the recipe.

Still, you seem to be doing reasonably well so far.  Things like this may not matter until the last few pounds.

Good point Warren! I'm still in transition mode, so I'm not 100% percent Paleo yet. I'm not sure if I'll go full tilt boogie, but we will see as time goes on!  ;D

Days 4/5 - 221 lbs - 2.2 lbs gained - 1.8 lbs lost

My weekend wasn't fully Paleo, but I've made some improvements in my diet overall, and I'm happy about that. I gained back some of the weight I first lost. I didn't write everything down, but here's what I remember eating over the weekend:

Meals

1 Crunchy Chicken Taco from Pollo Loco
1 Mexican Cobb Salad from Pollo Loco
14 BBQ/Hawaiian Chicken Wings with Blue Cheese Dressing
1 cup of Potato Salad
1 cup of Scrambled Eggs
5 strips of Uncured Bacon
2 cup of Carrots/Lima Beans with Kerry Gold Grassfed Butter

Drinks

Diet Pepsi Max with Bacardi Gold Rum
Coffee with Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk
Filtered Water

Snacks

8 Plantain Chips with Tahini Sauce and Sriracha Sauce
6 Green Olives
5 Red Apple Slices with Almond Butter and Honey

Dessert

1 Chocolate Chip Cookie

45 oz. Filtered Water
12 oz. of Diet Coke
34 oz. bottle of Smartwater

1 packet of Blue Diamond Smokehouse Almonds

I'm stuck at 218.2 lbs, so I am going to increase exercise, and walk for a full hour today, out in the California sunshine!

Breakfast

1/2 cup of Trader Joe's Lightly Salted Dehydrated Green Beans, dipped in 1 packet of Hummus
5 Fuji Apple Slices
5 Strawberries

Lunch

Teriyaki Chicken/Beef Veggie Bowl (broccoli, cabbage, carrots, bell peppers, onions)

Snacks

3 oz. of Costco Mixed Fancy Nuts (Cashews, Brazil Nuts, Pecans, Almonds)

Drinks

34 oz. Smartwater
12 oz. Diet Coke
8 oz. cup of French Roast Coffee with Trader Joe's Unsweetened Coconut Milk
12 oz. of Iced Coffee with Unsweetened Coconut Milk and Sugar-Free Raspberry Syrup
12 oz. Sugar-Free Red Bull
