My first food journal...
« on: September 08, 2014, 07:33:54 PM »
Just starting a journal so I can see what I'm eating.

So today:

Breakfast: 1 avocado, 4 slices of uncured bacon

Snacks throughout the day: too many organic strawberries, more almond butter than was necessary, and a nectarine

Dinner: broccoli roasted with olive oil

Well, that doesn't look too good... Hope tomorrow is better.

At least it's reasonably paleo, if not ultrastrict.

Breakfast: bulletproof coffee

Lunch: about 5 oz of steak, and a nectarine

Dinner: 2 hard boiled eggs, added some balsamic vinegar

I feel like I'm missing vegetables, but I'm not feeling hungry and didn't feel like cooking. Also wondering if that's too much fat? I put it into a calorie counter, and it's like 92 fat / 7 protein / 1 carb. I think I'll cut out the bulletproof part of the coffee. I was feeling a little nauseated after lunch.

Breakfast: 2 hard boiled eggs, coffee

Lunch: 5 oz steak, topped with mushrooms and onions. Side of okra.

Dinner: had a pear.

Very tired, slight headache, yet still a bit jittery. And I still have the queasy feeling I associate with onions. No more onions for me.

I'm pretty sure I generally eat more than this. Maybe it's just hormones and things will balance out over the month.

Water may help with the headache.  It's best to get half a gallon to a gallon per day, on the paleo diet.

Thanks! The water did help. I added some salt too and definitely am feeling better.

Breakfast: skipped, had to work early

Lunch: 3 sausages, 2 eggs, half an avocado, and some watermelon

Dinner: the other half of the avocado, an apple, and whatever broccoli wouldn't fit into the container for tomorrow's lunch.

Still pretty tired but feeling better than last night. I wanted potato chips but distracted myself by cooking.

Breakfast: 2 eggs, 5 slices of bacon

Lunch: broccoli

Dinner: tried making pancakes with 2 eggs, 1 banana, and half an avocado. And I ate the other half of the avocado. And watermelon.

Last night, I woke up hungry, so I blended vegetable stock with 2 tablespoons of butter. It was tasty! I may try it again with beef stock tonight.

If you're hungry, you might consider eating more.  Thus far, you're really not eating much food.

I think my intake amount varies due to hormones. There's a certain week I just can't stop eating, and the rest of the month, I just don't eat much.

Last week was one of those weeks. The pre-Thanksgiving celebrations though... Started again today, after only intermittently eating well the past two months.

Breakfast: bulletproof coffee and some grapes.

Lunch: salad with turkey. Avoiding onions and tomatoes again. Onions make me feel bleh.

Dinner: Looked like 5 ounces of sirloin. I've been buying grassfed beef and may never go back. Also had a pear. I'll make some roasted broccoli and cauliflower later if I'm hungry.

I made baked chicken legs and thighs today, and had one each for breakfast. Probably the same for dinner. This should carry me through the week too, as buying lunch has been too expensive.

Today went okay I guess. I've gained a few pounds from the numerous cheesecakes that keep popping up around the office.

Breakfast: Baked chicken leg and thigh

Snacks: I ate 2 tangerines, probably a cup of grapes, and possibly too much cheese. I also had some fun with the chocolate avocado pudding. I'm going to cut all of this out, I don't usually need to snack during the week.

Dinner: made a rib roast for the week too, and had some for dinner. Also another chicken leg.

Yesterday:

Breakfast: I made omelets in a muffin tin with eggs, bacon, avocado, and mushrooms. I had 2 for breakfast, and bulletproof coffee.

Lunch: large salad with sliced pieces of the roast, walnuts, and eggs.

No dinner, but I did have a little cheese.

After the roast from yesterday, I didn't feel like eating red meat today. I had 3 omelet muffins from yesterday, and a large salad with bacon, eggs, walnuts, and avocado. I think maybe I could vary my grocery list a little more.

Your grocery list sounds good to me.  It's been a long time since I've had omelettes; I should make some soon.
