August 3, 2011

I've been eating high paleo for the past 3 days or so but today was the day I officially felt I was all paleo and decided to start documenting from here :) I plan to do the whole 30 challenge to really help my body get used to the new lifestyle. I must warn you now my body is in a carnivorous super hungry mode so i've been eating lots of meat lately

B: 3 eggs scrambled w/mushrooms,spinach,and alfalfa sprouts a eye round steak with sauted mushrooms on top. Made green yogurt: 2 frozen bananas some dates 1-2c spinach sprinkle of cinnamon and 1 vanilla bean

S: chicken leg

L: Rest of chicken thigh small spinach salad with carrots and cucumbers sprinkled some pumpkin seeds on top

S: more pumpkin seeds

D: hard boiled egg, some almonds, chicken leg, a plum, 2 dates

For dinner i was really hungry and i tried to eat light but i never got full or satisfied and i even tried just drinking water. The last thing i ate was the chicken leg and finally my hunger went away.

Am i eating too much? I feel like it at times

Nearly impossible to eat too much on this diet, especially when you're just getting started.  It doesn't look like you're eating too much, at first glance.  What age/sex/height/weight are you?

This looks a little on the high side re: sugar/carbs and low re: fat, but if I recall correctly you're coming off of a raw vegan diet?  Dropping the carbs a bit and increasing the fat might help with the hunger.  Maybe try adding some avocado or coconut instead of bananas and dates, and of course, lots of meat with a good amount of fat on it!

I'm 20 y.o 5'6 currently weight 128 looking to lose more inches off the belly and i'm of the female species. I agree my fruit intake has been high this past week and i'm trying to limit to only 1-2 servings a day. I actually want to try making a smoothie with avocado instead of bananas for that creamy effect and since avocados don't have much of a flavor i figured this might work out and it'd be a good smoothie to have with my breakfast which is usually my largest meal.

Today i did a lot better

B: 3 eggs scrambled w/spinach and onion and another eye round steak used leftover chicken fat from the thighs to cook my breakfast..yummy!(how should i store the leftover fat)

L: Guacamole burger from red robin which they substituted the bun for lettuce! it was awesome(sort of a cheat since it had swiss cheese and mayo but not lots) Got a side order of steamed broccoli this was the first time i had broccoli and months and it tasted sweet to me!? :o loved it!

S:Handful of almonds

D: Ate a few bites of my big salad with leftover chicken thigh, boiled egg, cucumber, tomato, carrots, spinach and onion now i'm stuffed.

Not craving any fruit today! :D
Tomorrows my big paleo grocery shopping day! Gonna look up some recipes tonight to see what i should focus on buying!

Thanks for the link! It helped a lot!

Today was an ok day. I bought plenty of meat at the store and realized it may last me a lot longer so i should be good for 2 weeks. Sadly i bought these sausage patties that stated they were gluten free so i was all for it but i didn't realize there was sugar and dextrose in them so now i have to give them away. I also bought brawtwurst but i think the dextrose and sugars are in the casing because when i ate the meat without the casing it tasted like yummy meat! So i'm going to experiment with taking the meat out of the casing before giving them away. Other than that i realized buying beef meat is waaay to pricey :( Pork, chicken, and fish seem to be better options right now. I did buy burgers though and lots of chicken thighs and legs :D I also bought Ghee and used it to saute up some frozen veggies!! OMG DELICIOUS!!! I ususally dont buy veggies frozen but this store didn't have a good vegetable selection :/ next week i'll get more fresh veggies. Proud to say my fruit cravings have finally subsided! :D Now fruit is only a dessert for me when i want to indulge.

B: 1 boiled egg with a handful of almonds while grocery shopping. when i got home 2 eggs scrambled with spinach zucchini and red pepper had 2 sausage patties and my last round steak

L: Brawtwurst with sauteed mixed veggies

S: Leftover salad from yesterday w/ mustard

D: Still deciding thinking about making a chicken leg and some broccoli or use this jicama i bought before going paleo. Possibly out to eat with a friend

Last night i ended up eating out at chipotle again! Amazing as always and i indulged in some homemade banana based ice cream! Fridays are usually my reward myself days for the long work week lol. Today i wasn't really hungry like i usually am I only ate 2 big meals and a little snack before bed. Not complaining as this means my body is finally adjusting. It could also be because i didn't get to work out today.

B: 3 eggs spinach and mushroom scramble 4 pieces of bacon fat(literally no meat on this alleged bacon i bought) sauteed portabello mushrooms and a bratwurst out of the casing

L: chicken thigh stir fry with frozen veggie stir fry mix..YUMMM

S: 2 hard boiled eggs and almonds until i felt sick so about 20 lol

I think somethings wrong with my body!!! I'm not hungry!!!

This morning i woke up not hungry at all but i made breakfast anyway knowing i was going to workout and needed some fuel. I ate as much as i could before i started feeling full. I normally don't ever feel "full" but today i couldn't even finish all of my food. I don't even have a craving for anything in particular meh oh well i'll eat again i'm sure yesterday i went 6 hours in between breakfast and lunch and it feels like today will be the same.

B: 3 eggs scrambled w/zucchini, red bell pepper, and spinach. 4 slices of bacon fat and 1 whole small avocado. i couldn't even finish my bratwurst i just had two bites of it.

Edit:

I finally ate my lunch and dinner. I kind of ate because i felt like i should not because i was necessarily hungry and this seemed to jumpstart my metabolism again because the night went i on i became hungry.

L:yummy burger with sauteed peppers, onion, mushrooms broccoli and cauliflower and fatty bacon

D: chipotle again! lol i'm addicted it's bad barabacoa tomato salsa lettuce  guacamole :D

S:almonds and some gapes

Yesterday was a pretty good day but i had few a slip ups and paid for it. I started off strong but when i got to work i wanted some of my co workers homemade ice cream so i tried it. Not only because i wanted to taste it but also to see how my body would react to dairy when i haven't had it in so long and boy was it no fun. Stomach pains and i thought i was gonna throw up. Also i love how my body will enjoy sweets for a while and then when it wants me to stop eating the treat will start to taste gross or tasteless it's like my body says ok go ahead indulge a little and then when it's had enough it really lets me know. I LOVE it. Later that night i wanted some chocolate so i had almonds and dark chocolate chips and same thing happened eventually they became gross and my body had satisfied it's craving. Now i don't think my sweet tooth will be activated again for a while lol

August 8 2011

B: Burger with 2 fried eggs sauteed peppers, onion, mushroom rest of my bacon

L: Left over chipotle

S: almonds and the ice cream

D: chicken stirfry made from 3 chicken thighs(yea i was hungry and craving the meat lol)

S: dark chocolate chips and almonds

In other news i can see my body is still getting really lean. I took a measurement on my waist again and it's finally under 25in it's like 24.75!!! SOOOO close to my goal lol even my muffin top area looked tighter. I love how i feel as if i don't work out a lot but i see results weekly.

It's been a while since i've been here to document my eating habits and i was doing just fine for a while. But then a stupid wedding came up and i became all off track for a week. I ate dairy and legumes and sweets which lead me into a  full week of sweet cravings. Also because my roommate has come back from summer vacation we've been indulging in things we used to enjoy together like froyo and i had some chips, i tried to eat a bowl of cereal, but they made me feel horrible for the rest of the day. I've noticed dairy i can get away with slip ups but grains not so much. Now i'm off this crazy sweet craving and my body seems like it's ready for my old lifestyle again. Meat veggies meat! So i don't feel bad that i had this week of freedom as it was only temporary meh and sometimes you've got to remember this isn't cave man times anymore and it's ok to indulge in current societies goodies but not all the time.

I've decided to get back into intermittent fasting a little a long with my strict paleo lifestyle. I feel that i'm in need of a little more control of my food intake and to get my mindset back on track after my week of indulging and IF seems to help with that. I only plan to do it for 2 weeks or so and then i'll go back to my normal ways.

Also in this week of indulging i got to try new goodies such as coconut yogurt and ice cream and the ice cream is amazing! Definitely something to buy on those indulging days but the yogurt not so much. Also coconut milk is not a fav of mine neither is sunbutter which is absolutely disgusting. I made a banana shake with it and that helped but it is of no use to me as the flavor is awful i prefer my almond butter any day.

Took a week off from working out but i'm missing it and will be back to my kettle bells today :D love my workout so quick and to the point 10mins tops! 4 days a week

YAY PALEO!
