Here's some anecdotal evidence about fish oil and sluggishness.

In summary: fish oil is recommended as a replacement for organ meats. However, the DHA/EPA ratios are off. High EPA might cause fatigue. Cod liver oil has less EPA than "fish oil".

I've stopped taking the fish oil for about three days and I feel better. I will take it again on Wed/Thurs to see what happens.

I bought a new scale this weekend. It's much more consistent on the numbers.

Also, I did cheat a bit on Sunday and Monday - Sunday was Mother's Day and I ended up eating 2-3 bites of cheese cake my mom had made. On Monday I ate some left over Thai food that had about 1/4c of rice still mixed in it, but was mostly chicken, onions, and cashews.

Other than that, there is nothing to report.

Hey, you are like within 1lb of your weight tracker target! Good job.
Any idiot can get on a treadmill and watch TV and then take great pride in the fact they've exercised.

Aye, I hit like 170.6 in there at some point. I'm still flubby but at this point I'm going to focus less on the actual weight and more on the BF%.

Maybe I'll post some pictures :S

It's always a good sign when you're counting your cheesecake cheats in bites instead of slices!

Cheated last night with about 3c (popped) popcorn.

Other than that, 170.8 today. If we stay on course, that means goal will be reached soon.

I'm still not at the BF% I want to be though, so perhaps I should set another weight goal. 165 or 160?

Start lifting weights.
The answer to your question is 'eat more fat'.

Stop counting calories. If you are eating Paleo, there is usually no need.

If you are having weight loss issues, it'd be a good idea to start posting a detailed food journal, then everyone can help.

'Anecdotal Evidence' is an oxymoron.

Start lifting weights.

Yeah, I know all about this stuff - I've done my share of squats and deadlifts, and used to go to the gym every single day (ugh). But I never enjoyed it. It was never fun, it was drudgery. I've discovered I am more of a bodyweight guy. For this reason, I like to focus on bodyweight exercises and have a few goals I'm slowly working towards (unassisted handstand, L-sit, front lever, pistol, one armed pushup). Additionally, I take jujutsu classes 3 times per week, and the warmups there are fairly intensive.

Aaaand, ding. Hit the target weight today. I fasted yesterday, on a whim, so who knows if this will stick.

Now it's my turn to focus on BF%. I'm at about 20.2%, according to my scale. What's a good initial goal here? I was thinking 18% or 15%

About the fatigue.. Do you take fish oil in capsules made of gelatin ?

I do, but my Vitamin D and Vitamin K2 pills are also gelatin based. But that's an interesting question... I haven't been taking anything recently and have felt MUCH better.

I know several people including myself who are sensitive to that gelatin. These gelatin pills made me foggy always.

Gelatin has a very high content of free glutamate. If you are sensitive to free glutamate as it is in gelatin, you are sensitive to monosodium glutamate (food enhancer in most of the pre-made foods). Free glutaamte is also in wheat, soy and milk. But milk doesn't affect me as much as wheat does or those gelatin capsules did. But as we are cavemen we don't consume any wheat :) nor we should consume some artificial stuff. I supplement cod liver oil from the bottle.

Congratulations!

I think 15% body fat ought to be quite achievable.

Edit:  got any before and after photos for the progress forum sticky?

Thanks. Any good tips for the BF side of things, or is it simply "keep doing what you're doing" ?

Looking around now. I have some pictures from Nov of last year that should work. I'll take some pictures tonight, I think
