Some days in order to eat more fat (because fat and protein almost always are together unless you start chowing down on a bowl of coconut oil or butter...no thanks!) you end up eating more protein.  My protein grams would be nearly double what I should be eating.  Not good since my body can covert that to glucose too.

I think you are right and my thyroid and the medications I take for it are interferring.  Otherwise all this would have worked faster and better like it does for so many other people.

I hope you didn’t leave just because you’re experimenting with oatmeal right now…there are several people here who experiment with dairy and that’s not paleo either.  I am going to send you an email as soon as I get a chance.

DAY 2 - Saturday

What I Ate Today


8am - 1 cup coffee with 1 tbsp 2% milk
2pm - 2 cups coffee with 2 containers Table Cream
          3 egg omlette w/tomatoes, onions, green peppers, ham, cheddar cheese
          2 slices bacon
          1/2 cup diced watermelon and canteloupe
          0.5 oz walnut pieces

530pm - 5 oz beer can chicken (with super awesome crispy skin!!)
             2 cups radish salad (leaf lettuce, radish, hard boiled egg, olive oil, sesame oil, bragg's aminos, rice vinegar, sugar)
             1 cup diced roasted potatoes (butter and fresh parsley)

615 pm - 1/2 cup sorbet
              1/4 cup sliced strawberries
              40 grams dark chocolate and crushed nuts

Today is Sarah's Super Sexy Slimdown "Soften" Saturday but since I am just starting I didn't want to go crazy on my first day.  It's the middle of my cycle so I am not hormonally crazy and I figure I can handle the cheese and cream.  I was tempted to have a bite of hubby's toast and/or pancakes at breakfast because that would be normal for my former life BUT I just screamed in my head "SABOTAGE!!!" and that seemed to be the head shake I needed.  

I haven't had any water today which is troublesome to me.  That is one thing that went very far by the wayside when I stopped Paleo in the past.  Anywho....

Adding up my supper, which is super soft, I still came in range for my macros!  I was surprised by this!  I didn't go crazy today and I feel pleasantly full, but not stuffed.  That Beer Can Chicken on the BBQ is the cat's ass!  LOVE IT!!

Edit:  And now I HATE beer can chicken.  Made me very very very very sick.  Ugh.  I forgot how chicken can do that to my body.  Why does chicken affect IBS so much?  Why chicken in particular?!   Damn tasty chicken....

6pm - 8 oz steak
         steamed veg with 1 tsp butter
         tossed salad w/balsamic vinegrette

Super busy day today!  We went to our sustainable farm and bought some chicken for the week.  Searched around for eggs and found some duck eggs.  Visit with the outlaws and found out I am to be an Auntie again (in late Nov)!  yay!

Didn't eat right and I am now hungry and cranky...but super tired too.  Straight to bed I said!
