skorpion317's Food Journal
« on: April 03, 2008, 11:18:44 AM »
I've been eating paleo for 2 weeks now. I figured I'd start documenting my meals to let everyone see what I'm eating. We'll start today, April 3 2008:

Breakfast - Spicy Scrambled Eggs (recipe available here)
1 small glass of orange juice

Snack: 1 clementine

Lunch - Tuna w/ herb mayonnaise (I used one of the 3 oz. Starkist packets of tuna)
1 glass of water

Dinner - Turkey Vegetable Meatballs (recipe available here)
Bottle of water

April 5 2008:

Breakfast: 2 hard-boiled eggs
1/3 bottle water

Lunch: Tuna w/ herb mayonnaise
1/2 bottle of water

Went to visit my fiancee's brother, who had surgery a few days ago for a staph infection in his arm. My mom made dinner for us to bring up to him. She made meatballs and Italian sausage, and gave us some spaghetti to complete the meal. I didn't eat the spaghetti:

Dinner: 1 piece of sausage, 2 meatballs
1 glass of water

April 6 2008:

Breakfast: Spicy Scrambled Eggs
1/3 bottle of water

Lunch: 3 pieces of smoked turkey
1/3 bottle of water

Dinner: Rainbow Trout with Tomato Pesto sauce
1 bottle of water

The trout was tasty. I didn't get all the bones out, though...so I had to pick a few out while I ate.

Either your portions are really big, or you don't eat very much!

I eat enough that I don't feel hungry. My first goal is to lose weight, so my portions are a little small, but not ridiculously small. Once I reach my goal weight, my portion size will increase a little.

April 11 2008:

Breakfast: Spicy Scrambled Eggs
1 glass of orange juice

Snack: Handul of red seedless grapes

Lunch: 4 pieces of sliced smoked turkey
1 glass of water

Went to visit my fiancee's brother again. He had to go back to the hospital to have his arm flushed out one more time. He's feeling better now. We ended up going out to dinner at a local restaurant. The waitress must have thought I was crazy:

Dinner: Plain burger (no bun), with a little chili on the top
3 glasses of water

I love those onion Bubba burgers.   :)

They're probably the best burger I've ever had. I wish I could grill them, though. I've been making them in a pan on the stove. I'll have to pick up a little charcoal grill soon.

I guess I must really live in a cave.  What is a Bubba Burger? Where do you get them?

It's a brand of frozen hamburger.  They come in a box in the frozen section and I think it's usually 6 1/3lb patties.  They have no filler ingredients, which is nice.  The onion burgers we're talking about have 2 ingredients - beef and onions.  You can cook them straight from frozen and they taste better than any other premade burger I've had.   :)
