tracyd's food journal
« on: August 25, 2012, 04:13:49 PM »
The morning was easy, a 5 oz. piece of sirloin steak with two eggs over medium, and a handful of blueberries. :)

Lunch was a complete disaster. I went to a place called Crispers. I thought a salad place would have healthy choices, I was wrong!  The seasoned chicken has sugar in it, as does the tuna! I ended up with a mixed iceberg and Romain salad(if there was romain I missed it) with some carrot, some red cabbage, scant red onion, and two meager slices of avacado. Oh, I squeezed lemon over this because vinegar and oil are not an option at Crispers. :o

When I finally got home, I stir fried a smallish chicken thigh and summer squash in coconut oil and bacon grease. ;)

Dinner was a shepherd pie with ground chuck, mushrooms sauteed in coconut oil, carrots, onion, small amount of red wine, and garlic. With a mash of steamed cauliflower for the top.

I also plan on having a wedge of cantaloupe in about 30 seconds!

Happy eating!

What a lazy day.
Breakfast was two eggs over medium and three slices of bacon.

Lunch, leftovers shepherd's pie from last night.
Snack of watermelon, that sweet seductress.

I pan fried chuck burger's for dinner, I wanted to grill but tropical storm Isaac thwarted me. I had mustard, homemade mayo, pickles and onions on my burger. Pan roasted butternut squash along side.

Today was a workout day so I had a green smoothie.
1 cup each tightly packed kale and spinach.
1 carrot
Handful of mint
3/4 cup frozen mixed berries
3/4 cup coconut water
2 T coconut oil
2 soft boiled eggs, I don't have any problems making mayo, but I can't put raw eggs in my smoothie. :o

Walnut snack

Steak salad for lunch. Seared sirloin over roquette and spinach with radishes. Avacado oil, lime juice,, oregano and garlic dressing.

Dinner was a chicken thigh marinated in coconut oil, white wine vinegar, ginger, and shallot. With slightly wilted spinach.

is it ok to eat so many "fruits".

I thought it was something to do not too often?

I don't eat fruits most day...and eat Cucumbers instead as a substitute really.

I've certainly reduced my fruit intake, and don't miss it, much, if at all, CC.  Had some strawberries last night when out for a meal at the outlaws, and they were delicious.

Generally I avoid fruit.  A real treat at times, though.

I cannot give up my fruit. It's bad enough that I can't have tomatoes and peppers, so I'm keeping the fruit.

I did an experiment to see if I could eat tomato or not. Not! I ate a piece about the size of a quarter and about fifteen minutes later got a very sharp stomach pain that lasted for about five minutes. The next morning I had a lump. A very small one, about the size of a grain of rice, but still hot and painful. Not even going to try peppers!

Yesterday I accepted a piece of chocolate from one of my friends without reading the ingredients ::) It was Girardelli 86%, so I thought it was safe. I had half a square, and twenty minutes later I had a rash across the top of my chest and a small patch of hives on the back of my left shoulder! I looked up the ingredients on line, and it contains soy. Lesson learned.  :P

Think it depends, if your primary goal is weight loss, probably not a good idea.

If you are an athlete, particularly a cardio/endurance athlete for recovery they will be very helpful.
