G'day guys.

Today was a bit of a free day food wise for me. 2 boiled eggs for breakfast. Lunch was a kebab and dinner was a shepards pie with a little mash. I also had 2 beers. I had a bit of milk chocolate to. I know it wasn't a great day but I'm not gonna worry about it too much. Will jump back on tomorrow. I would like to eventually not eat like this at all.

So I decided today was the day to try this tabata. I thought 20/10 would be possible but decided not to go too hard the first time. Then I thought 15/15sec would be a good starting point. Decided against that as well. I ended up settling for 10 on/20 off and I completed all 8 sets. The last 2 almost killed me. My lungs were screaming and I reckon it took me 25 mins to recover 90-95%. it was really good pushing myself that hard. Will slowly build up to 20/10. Will try to do this 2-3 times a week. Thanks for the advice suze, they really kicked my butt too and I only did a fraction. I stopped smoking almost a year ago and it still smashed my lungs.

Night all.

 Hi all.

Today was ok. 2 eggs and bacon for breakfast. Lunch was protein shake with water and a banana. Dinner I had some fish and some chips. I had a coke today. I really seem to struggle on days off. Days on are a breeze.

Anyway I did a shoulder, bi's and tri's workout today. Feeling a little unmotivated today. Don't know if it's the bad food that I had or what. Maybe the long hours I've been working. Could've been the beers. It's gotta be the food.does this happen to other people when they eat shit food? Feel like I could hit the sack.

Goodnight everyone.

Lunch was a kebab

I lived in England from 1988-'91 and there was a Middle Eastern man at a round about that would make awesome kebabs with lamb, pita, cabbage, and a sweet sauce. Mmmm. I miss eating those. Would you have a recipe for the sweet sauce or recipe for the entire kebab or point me to a website?

G'day DTSMA68.

When I say kebab, I'm talking about one of those doner kebabs you get at 2am when your pissed and on your way home for the night. This one had pita bread, chicken instead of the usual lamb, lettuce, tomato, cheese, onion, BBQ and mayo sauces. Cost just over $10. Wouldn't know bout the sweet sauce. Sounds pretty good if your still thinking about them over 20 years ago! Ha ha. Can I ask, were you drunk when you had them? I bet you were half the time. Ha ha

Hello all.

Jumped back on today. Started the day with tabata HIIT training. I did 10 on/20 off. Was really hard again and I even went over 10 seconds on a few occasions. I went to 12 to 13 seconds on some of the intervals. I know it's only 2 or 3 seconds but it hurts like hell! Going to slowly bring it up. Will start doing 12 sec on all of the intervals and move up from there. Good workout.

Breakfast was 2 eggs, 1.5 rash of bacon, protein shake with water and a banana. Was full for ages.
Lunch was a pear and some almonds with 2 fish oils to bring up the omega 3 from all the omega 6 in the almonds and an apple. I've been taking fish oils sporadically since I've started paleo. Dinner was some leftover cottage pie with a tiny bit of potato.

This morning I decided to do a weigh in. I thought that over my days off I didn't really eat the best. I wanted to see the damage even though I said it usually brings me down. I thought seeing a number would motivate me and it did. 87.5kg/192.6lbs. It's day 14 and I've dropped a touch since day 11. I'm really happy that I hadn't put on 5kgs like I thought I would have.

It motivated me to get back on and keep pushing and today I'm back to being super motivated. Maybe it's the good food I had today. My good energy and outlook has motivated me to keep eating paleo and enjoy this great mental and physical state!

Night all and happy eating!

G'day all.

I bought some boxing gloves the other day for only $15. What a bargain! So I did about 15 mins on the bag this morning. My shoulders got really tired quickly. Shows me how out of shape I really am. I then had breakfast of 2 eggs, 2 rash of bacon, protein shake. Small lunch of some almonds, orange, Greek salad, and an apple salad. Dinner was steak, a little chicken some non paleo samosa and lasagna.

Tonight I did this tabata training again. I'm addicted. Thanks Suze! Did all 8 sets but my first 4 I did for 12 seconds and I really pushed it. The next 3 were 10 seconds and my last was 12 seconds. I did a light cool down for about 4 minutes. Jumped off the bike, grabbed some water. Thought I was ok, then I felt sick as a dog. Had to go lie down for 10 minutes. Must have pushed it hard.

Gonna try and have a few days off from the tabata, but I just love it! Thanks again Suze!!! Going to a 40th tomorrow night, so it'll be drinking, eating and no training. Probably do me good to have a day off training.

Goodnight all.

Glad you are enjoying it--though enjoying might not quite be the right word for Tabata.   ;D

Well I've been MIA for a few days.

Been enjoying eating and drinking quite a bit lately. Maybe a little too much! My paleo diet hasn't been the best. Today I had a BLT and tonight I had left over chicken hot pot. I really feel run down with the drinking and the non paleo food. It really does make a difference.

Did some biking on the spin bike tonight. I've had the last few days off exercise, which is probably a good thing. Tonight I did 30 sec on/30 sec off. 30 seconds on was about 85%. The good thing was it was even work to rest ratio. I just need to bring up the intensity next time I do 30/30. I completed 8 sets.

I just need to be consistent with my food intake. It's so easy to be influenced into consuming rubbish. I did pay for it with crook guts some of the time. There was a guy on caveman forum with a journal and he weighed 250lbs or something and he wanted to get to 200. He got to 205 and would eat shit and go back up to 212. Get back down to 202 and same again up to 215. This kept happening and then the journal stopped. *don't quote me* I don't wanna be that guy, this will be a lifestyle change and I will get to my goals. Going out for lunch tomorrow, wish me luck.

G'day everyone.

Yesterday I did tabata training with all 8 sets at 12 seconds on/18 seconds off. I went about 95%. it was hard but I didn't push it as hard as last time. Didn't make myself feel sick, which was good.

Today I did 16 hours of work and I've got 14 tomorrow!!!!! Today's food, 2 boiled eggs + protein shake + apple for breakfast. Lunch was a few nuts, some fish oil and an orange. Dinner was steak and veggies. I also had 2 lemon meringue's. Whoops! After 16 hours I cracked!

No workouts tonight. I should be doing more weights. I hardly do anything these days. I'm doing lots of biking though. Need to do some boxing as well. Watched 101 greatest knockouts today. Really want to have some lessons. Gotta stop doing these long shifts. Need a job that I work 40 hours a week and get paid $100,000AUD. Any offers????

Hang in there Trav - I used to do long shifts like that too (and a sedentary job too, to make it worse!) ... I understand how hard it is!  I was at my absolute fattest at that point, eating lots of 'empty' foods (rice crackers and 'fat-free' corn chips - nice attempt to lose weight, hey? Haha ) and lots of sugar to compensate for my misery and lethargy.  You're doing much better than I was! :)  And your exercise regime is looking great.
Do you have time one day or night a week to perhaps cook two or three bulk meals (meat soup, chilli, curry, that sort of thing) and freeze them, so you have more things to eat through the week and don't get stuck?  Being a disorganised person at heart is one of my biggest downfalls in life in general.  If I really try to get myself organised for the week food-wise, I find it much easier to not crack.

Good luck!

Good evening everyone.

Hi claves. Yeah on my days off I organize and buy food for the next few days. Your right, when I plan and buy the food I do eat well. If nothing is planned I head right down to maccas. Cooking in bulk is a great idea but I don't know about the freezing and re-heating. On the other hand i never had protein shakes in water until recently and now I love it. Curries are even better the next day so I might have to give that a go.

Today I did a weigh in this morning and i hit a new low. 87.2kg/192.4lbs. Only a little bit away from my goal of 86.999999999999kg. Only 0.1 of a kg but I'll take it. Breakfast was boiled egg and an orange. Lunch was some nuts and seeds, fish oil tablets, protein shake, banana and dinner was eggs and bacon with some rice that was brought over with some chicken. Not a bad days eating. To this day I don't think I've had a full day of paleo eating. Might be time to get real serious about it.

Did some training after I got home tonight. Biking. 8 sets. 30 sec on/30 sec off. I went pretty hard tonight. Felt really good. It really is 90% mental for the last 2 intervals. Gonna sleep well tonight after back to back 16 hour and 14 hour shifts. Only 10 hours tomorrow, so really a walk in the park. I reckon I can hit 87.0kgs tomorrow morning. Night all.

A quick update.

8 hours sleep last night, it was awesome. Morning weigh in. 86.7kg/191.4lbs!!! Really happy that I've hit my first goal. Haven't been this light for a while. Going to another 40th tonight so that number is probably going to rise. ::)

Have a great day everyone!  ;D

Hi everyone.

Been going ok as of late. Although last night I had macca's. Today.

B- chicken BLT.

L - chicken and banana

D - meat balls with veggies.

I did some boxing this morning. Bit of shadow boxing, heavy bag and skipping. Trying to focus on technique even though I've never had a lesson.  :P What mean is, as soon as I felt my form go down I would take a rest.
I did some biking this afternoon. 1 min work/30 sec rest. I did 8 sets. I liked being in a negative for rest to work ratio. Getting myself ready for a real tabata workout. Didn't go too hard as it was my first time with this ratio. Great workout though. Just went for a 45 min walk with the dog also. Thought I'd put that in aswell.

Night all. Oh yeah my weight is back up to the 87kg's again after all the beer and partying. Gonna set a new goal for myself. Might be 79.9999999kg.   ;D

Back on the wagon today after a few days of partying!
This morning I did some biking tabata style with 12sec on/18 sec off. 8 sets and real hard work. Tonight I just finished more biking of 1 min on/30 sec off. 8 sets. Still sweating after a shower!

Food wise -

B - protein shake with water, banana.

L - another protein shake, apple salad, nuts, seeds with some fish oil.

D - steaks!!!!!!! Some sweet potato and salad. Is sweet potato paleo? I don't think so but not sure.

I've been really hungry during the day lately and I've also not been eating a real breakfast of yummy eggs and bacon. Need to get back to having a real breakfast. My new goal - to have a decent breakfast everyday.

Night all. Motivation level out of 10. 10!

Good evening everybody.

Did a chest and back workout today in-between watching some ufc. It's good to get some resistance training again. Now I just need to do it on a consistent basis.

Today I decided to have a decent breakfast of eggs and bacon. Was really good to have breakfast today.
L - 4 chicken drumsticks and 1 mouthful of salad. Did not taste good at all. Work food!
Snack- nuts, seeds and a banana.
D - little chicken wings. I've still got a leftover steak which I'm gonna smash in a minute. No cycling today. My knees are a bit sore, so I'm gonna take a day or 2 off. My weight has gone back up to 88.something. Too much partying. Need to be a bit disciplined for a few days. I need to see that weight get down to the 86's again. Mmmmmm steak!
