Hello from Canada
« on: October 23, 2011, 08:26:20 PM »
I'm new to this and all forums :-[ but thought I would try to find some inspiration and motivation from others trying to find a healthier lifestyle. I hope to cut out sugars and grains and focus more on whole foods. I also eat way too much cheese! I feel best when I eat very little but willpower often gets the best of me then I'm back to square one :( Tomorrow is a new day!

Welcome!

You should find that once your body is getting what it needs, will-power soon becomes a non-issue. When you're getting enough protein, fat and nutrients, and your insulin, leptin, etc aren't all over the place from eating grains and sugar, you don't get hungry in the same way. I started paleo because I was getting terrible blood sugar crashes and I was tired and hungry all the time, and had vast improvements in a matter of weeks.

Not sure how the whole reply thing works yet but here i am-somewhere ??? I do feel great already and not hungry at all-I've had no sugar or grains since yesterday, lots of meat so i don't even feel a need to get out the nachos, cheese and salsa tonight! So far so good. thanks for the encouragement ;D

I came,I left and now I'm back hopefully to stay! I've been feeling quite unwell-no wonder-loading up on carbs and sweets-dang Halloween bars!!lol Now I've been breaking out in hives/rash all over for over a month and find I need to lie down to rest after i eat and I'm exhausted most of the time Doc says it looks like some kind of allergy so I figure why not cut everything out and get my energy and health back on track. As before hoping to focus on a meat based diet-very simple whole foods and get rid of the carbs, the weight and the misery -wish me luck!
