hey cavemen!
« on: January 08, 2012, 08:10:06 AM »
Hello everybody!

I'm a 31 old guy from Portugal who wants to do a paleo-challenge starting today for the duration of 28 days!

I've tried paleo diet several times in the past but never manage to stick with it long enough to see the desired results but actually in a fews day to two weeks doing it I was able to get great results for the time frame!

Now I'm gonna stick with a strict paleo diet a la Cordain for 4 weeks which I never done before and I believe I'll get amazing results!

I will also do a weight lifting routine HIT style but unorthodox HIT, more like Kubik's Dinousaur Training Rest Pause mixed with Brizcky's 3x3 Metabolic Conditioning.

I'm gonna track my progress and report it here!

Hope to hear from you!

Filipe

Welcome my friend.

You could also try easing into simply an all whole-foods diet.  This of course depends on what you've been eating, but all too often folks try switching from a McDiet to Paleo and burn out... quickly.

Welcome Filipe.    :)

If you are following Cordain, be aware that his advice about eating lean meat is not that good in the opinion of most people who've been eating paleo for a while. If you eat fattier cuts of fresh meat you will find paleo a lot easier to stick to. That may be the reason you haven't managed to stick with it before.

Thanks for the welcoming and the advices!!

Yes, I also agree that increasing fat intake can make it easier to adopt a paleo diet, and won't be avoiding fat at all, so I won't be following Cordain's recomendations completely...

I will also try to eat grass-fed or free-range meat when possible!

My diet before was closer to  a mediterranean diet with some fast food but it was very high on carbs: rice, bread and potatoes mostly...

I think this time I will suceed on sticking with the diet and without cheating because I'm not working now and my life is not very demanding these following weeks... I will also try to eat more than before, more calories, more protein, more fat!

I will post here my before and after photos in the end of the 28 days!
