Hey newbie to paleo
« on: September 04, 2016, 03:53:37 PM »
Hello I am interested in following the paleo diet and I was recommended to check out this forum. I currently snack o almonds, peanuts, cashews for a snack. I have green smoothies for breakfast with some boiled eggs on the side. Finally lunch / dinner is usually salad with chicken in it.

Weight 139 pounds
Height 6ft
Age 23

My goal is to progress from stick figure to a healthier version with some muscle on the bones.

Thanks for the read
Andrew

Welcome.

If you want to add some muscle weight, I'd recommend including more full fat meat, especially red meat, in your diet - steak, 70% lean hamburgers without the bun, that kind of thing.  You may also want to do some strength exercises.

Also, I'd drop the peanuts; they are legumes and not paleo, have very low quality protein, and have a poor fatty acid balance.  Low protein quality protein intake can make it more diffiicult for the body to build protein structures, such as muscles.
