I am so happy to have found a community of people who's Paleo/crossfit experience I can learn from.

I am 28 years old and tip the scales at 220 ( :o). I was an athlete in my youth but since getting married 9 years ago I just let it all go. I have researched paleo for about a year but have always found a thousand excuses why it couldn't apply to my daily life.

I joined a crossfit box a month ago and was immediately humbled by the intensity of the workouts, and I was forced to realize the truth of how out of shape I really am. I thought the rest of my beginner group would begin to lose patience with me always being the anchor, but it was the exact opposite. It was with their support and my family that helped me complete the beginner cycle.

Through my Crossfit box I have started a 30 day strict paleo challenge, and am currently on day 5. It has not been as hard a transition as I expected from hearing other people's gripes, and I've already lost 6 lbs. I'm looking forward to completing the 30 days with zero cheats, then continuing on the paleo journey and learning to view this not as a restriction, but a high quality way to live my life.
