Ok so I've been here for a while, but I don't think I've actually introduced myself before.
I've gone paleo a few times in the past (2 or 3?) and generally lasted up to a few weeks before binging on carbs and never bothering to recover, but those times I don't feel I truely understood what it was to be paleo, opting for low-fat cuts of meat etc in fear of heart disease - thanks conventional wisdom

So, last Wednesday I made the commitment - hopefully for the last time - to clean up my eating. Since then I've been eating nice fatty cuts like 400g new york steaks, pork belly, racks of ribs and am feeling much better for it. Hopefully the extra fat will help me bust through the carb-cravings. Over the week so far, I'm down about 4kg, so things are looking good so far.
As a bit of background, in 2006 (age 19) I jumped on the scales and discovered I was 97kg, a good 20+kg overweight. I jumped on the detox diet for 6 weeks, got myself a gym membership, and 12 months later I was down to 71kg, lighter than when I was 16 and doing martial arts tournaments. But I was skinny, not lean - I'd burnt all my muscle. From there I discovered Gym Jones and started emulating their workouts to great success.
I'm now up to 81kg at about 14-15% body fat, which I'm hoping to strip down to around 9% this year in time to compete in Korea in July, and hopefully maintain that weight.
While I'm at it, my girlfriend has also gone paleo and has gone from 74kg down to 66kg since November last year and is really loving it!
So anyway, howdy everyone, hopefully I'll be sticking around for a good while this time!
