Spread the word, atkins did not die of a heart attack. It was propaganda spread by who knows.

I think the rumor started in the following way.  He slipped and fell, and cracked his head.  However, the doctors kept him alive for a few days.  Of course they pumped him full of glucose solution through IVs - standard procedure - and he evidently bloated up from that.  When he eventually died, never having regained consciousness from the fall, some people speculated that he had died from heart failure, ignoring the part about cracking his head on the concrete.

Hello all. I have been lurking here since around Christmastime.
Greetings!

Quote
I reserve the right to drink my daily 1-2 cups of coffee. My body may tell me to ditch it. I had my usual cup at work last night and my stomach got upset! Cheesy... so I dumped the rest.
We dumped coffee a couple of years back, in favor of Green Tea. I load a tea ball and hang it inside the coffee pot, then it gets made automagically every morning. I add some cayenne, and use palm sugar or Agave nectar to sweeten, and coconut milk for creamer. The fat and calories usually sustain me until lunch on lazy days.

Palm sugar is not a good thing to be ingesting. Probably the same for the agave nectar.

The answer to your question is 'eat more fat'.

Stop counting calories. If you are eating Paleo, there is usually no need.

If you are having weight loss issues, it'd be a good idea to start posting a detailed food journal, then everyone can help.

'Anecdotal Evidence' is an oxymoron.

I get a skin rash if I eat agave syrup. Generally I wouldn't eat anything that is called 'sugar', 'sweetener' or 'syrup', the name is already wrong, before to eat it!!
Most people say it's agave/palm/stevia/whatever then it's natural but why do we need a sweetener? Can we live without? Can we get used to? Would a neanderthal use agave/palm/stevia/whatever?
Answers are pretty obvious to me.

This is an excellent point, in my opinion. I really need to stop thinking that I need the little luxury of sweetness. I forgot who says it here, but one of the members is always saying we need to just think of food as fuel. I agree with that, and I think I am getting better at that attitude myself... not a far stretch because in the past even with my crappy eating, I would eat odd things simply because it was available and I was hungry. I wasn't terribly picky. I even ate things that I knew might have been spoiled, lol... I hate wasting food.
