Just starting this thing

Hi!  I have been slowly replacing my non paleo food with better options and am still not there but just wanted to jump in and say hi.  I have tried to go paleo in the past while married with a kid still at home and it never worked for me.  Now I live alone as my daughter lives on her own as well.  This makes it much easier.

I do Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and am competing for my first time this weekend.  This is a huge part of why I have been putting off transitioning for real because I can't afford days off of training.  After this competition, I am looking to add some weight lifting into my weekly routine and have been looking at the Starting Strength book as a possible start.  I have done some weight lifting in the past but I do much better when given a specific routine. 

Anyhow, it is good to meet you all and hope to start posting regularly soon!

Welcome!  Please ask LOTS of questions and DON'T get discouraged.  This is a huge change - for the better.  No matter how strict you get.

Haha yep I am the original Steph Curry.  When he first started showing up in the news, it would totally weird me out because I would hear my name and get all kinds of confused  ;D

I am reading a few different books now and slowly weaning myself off of the junk.  Luckily I don't eat too much of the crappy stuff anyhow but sugar will be my demon to slay for sure.

I have made small little strides that has really helped...

I do not include anything with sugar for an actual meal.  I have started measuring my sugar laden crap creamer for my coffee so that I can step down my usage without losing my mind.  I do not stock my kitchen with items that I don't want to eat.  This means that I have to physically leave the house and go to the store when I have a sugar craving. 

So far it has really helped me reduce the amount of sugar that I eat.  That final step is going to be the hard one.

Ironically enough, I bake cupcakes and cake pops as a side job and I can pass those up all day long since I know that they are for someone else :)
