Reposting from another topic:

My name is Melissa, and I'm a 34-year-old Portlander (Oregon, not Maine). I'm currently high raw and Paleo, based on Cordain's book. I was high raw with only a bit of raw goat cheese for several months but was having brain fog... adding animal protein back in cleared that up pronto, so here I am. The only raw animal protein I eat, however, is sushi-grade fish. I may continue to have raw goat cheeses here and there, but have not in several weeks. Thankfully my boyfriend has also started Paleo, which makes it much easier. We started on Paleo two weeks ago.

I no longer drink caffeine, although I indulge in a decaf black coffee once a week or so (for old times' sake). I don't drink soda or eat refined sugar. No eggs for me, due to allergy. I've also been off most grains for several months, due to wheat and gluten allergies. I probably eat more salt than I should, and definitely drink more wine than I should. A girl has to have a vice or two...

I'm giving this a few months to see how it goes, and figure out what tweaks I need to make. Since late May, when I first went high raw, I've seen a lot of positive change in my health and I've dropped 22 pounds. I have about 25 more to go and I'll be at my fighting weight. Raw vegan wasn't the right path for me, but it's gotten me this far... I'm looking forward to the next phase, and to honing in on what's right for my body.

Exercise? Feh. I've been lazy lately, other than walking my dog twice a day and trekking up and down the two flights of stairs at my office. When I'm not lazy, I run a little (and I do mean a little) and do Pilates.

I used to think Pilates was for wimps - until I tried it!  Our instructor was an ex-Russian special forces psycho who beat the crap out of us.  Well, that's how I saw it anyway....

Try sprints while walking your dog - way more fun for both of you!

Gotta get some exercise

If you don't know what to do try looking through some of our posts and try some new things out

Don't have to make it an every day thing as long as you get some intense work in every few days

That said welcome and thanks for posting an intro

Welcome to the club, Melissa.

On exercise, here's a fun one.

Tie a good sized chunk of meat to a short length of rope, give your dog a whiff of it then run for it, to simulate escaping from a predator. It should be interesting and fun. :)
Oh... wash your hands after handling the meat..... or it might become a real escape attempt. :)

Or you could check out these sites: 20 minute fitness routines posted daily. this guy is amazing.
