I'm Edge, also known as PaleoMarine. As the name implies, I was a Marine and in really good shape until I was 31. Then, I left the Corps after 12 years and took an office job. As I sat at a desk, I gained so much weight so quickly, I got stretch marks! 17 years later, I found myself over 300 lbs and with health issues starting to mount. My wife and I discussed it, and with the help of my cousin and a friend's advice, we did a Whole30 followed by Paleo. We haven't looked back.
I'm now 193.8 lbs which is 95 lbs less than I weighed on September 1, 2015 and over 113 lbs less than the highest I got up to. Here is a before/after pic:
Since going Paleo, I've improved my health in so many ways including I am no longer diabetic (was taking Metformin as a Type 2 Diabetic), my liver enzymes are back to normal levels, my cholesterol is at normal levels, my heart rate is good, my stress test passed with flying colors, vision improved, and no more acne. I am more flexible, have more stamina, and I feel young again.
I feel better, have more energy, and I no longer have cravings between meals. It's all incredibly liberating!
I have another 18 lbs to go to my final goal of 165 lbs. I am hoping to get there by September 1. My weight loss has slowed a lot now that I've lost so much weight, but I'm still working at it, sticking with it, and enjoying every step of the way.
