I've been lurking this board for a long time and finally felt like joining up.

I'm joining because I don't feel that I fit on many other health and fitness boards, because I have an odd mix of diet, health and exercise practices that doesn't seem to fit anywhere. So, I figure I'll give it a go here.

I have a strong background in the martial arts and outdoor sports. I pretty much grew up doing kung fu and going camping. Recently I was finally taken on a proper hunting trip, and I'm probably hooked forever. My exercise routine is now a mixture of things I always did to train for the martial arts and things I started doing to train for next year's hunt.

My diet is a mixed diet. Generally speaking it boils down to meat, olive oil and spices. If I have carbohydrates, I try to get them from whole grains, rice, fruit and that kind of thing. I take cod liver oil every day, and often take prenatal vitamins and chlorella pills.

Really all I'm looking for is a place to put some workout logs and food journals that's full of people with interesting input, and a place to share and learn. I hope to find a group of people with a focus that balances holistic, aesthetic and athletic concerns in a similar way to myself.

Hello.

Welcome Spite.    :)

It sounds like your diet and lifestyle are quite compatible with paleo. Basically if you ditch the grains and substitute with vegetables you'll probably be as paleo as most of us. There are lots of keen athletes on the board. (And no doubt a fair few lazy slobs like me, lol.) You should get plenty of good feedback on the workout threads.

The hunting sounds like fun!
