Chemical Sensitivity increased
« on: June 16, 2011, 03:54:09 AM »
I've always been chemically sensitive to a degree, more than most. I've noticed since cutting out all the additives in my new WOE that I'm suddenly WAY more reactive to things. I've even found myself wheezing after being exposed to some things. Having washing powder in my car the other day had me wheezing all night. Has anyone else experienced this? I guess im asking if I had insulated myself by chocking my body full of additives and chemicals and now my insulation is being stripped away.

I've noticed it to some extent, although I'm not sure how much of it is that I typically feel good now, so I notice problems much more, and how much of it is actual increased sensitivity.  I suspect it's some of both.

Alcohol, certain inhalants (e.g. paint or chemical fumes), and medications affect me much more strongly now, particularly if I'm in ketosis.  Perhaps it has something to do with how hard your kidneys are already working, and how fast things are cleared from your system?

On the plus side, my seasonal allergies and certain skin sensitivities are nearly non-existent compared to pre-paleo WOE.
