I am killing this I.D. at the end of the week.  This forum is getting too odd and taxing on the ole Bearso.  While I have not posted in a few days, I continue to get smited and my posts are getting removed or some strange thing.  Last time I posted I had well over 500 posts and now I have about 480.  I have better things to do than play silly games, so if you want to stay in touch, catch me on face book. 

Sometimes when a thread is started by a spammer, and nothing is really said in it I'll kill the whole thing, but that is the only possible way any of your posts would have been removed by me.

I'm afraid we can't see who's been smiting you, but does it really matter?

For real....lots of boards have started out with applauds/smites but have ended up doing away with it because of abuse and driving away valuable members.

If smiting is making valuable members feel bad, how about asking Eric to drop that karma thing?  I love reading Bearso's post, I'd hate to see him go.

For sure I'll ask him. Thing is though, only douchebags use the smite with any regularity, so leaving because of smites seems a bit silly.

At one point Warren Dew, one of the most valuable and helpful members here, had over 100 smites. Eric reset them when I pointed it out, but Warren never cared.

So one anonymous member is smiting you.  So what?  It just means he's an idiot.  Don't let him drive off a valuable member like you.

As for the post count, it may be what Samjohn said, but I think there are some software issues here as well.  In particular, there's some weirdness about how the forum handles and counts posts marked as spam, and we know there's some weirdness in how spam is identified.

They're just numbers. Are they actually that important to you?

That was just a change in displayed name. I don't see him on my Facebook friends either.
