Glorious groceries
« on: October 14, 2014, 07:05:35 AM »
Have you noticed how much simpler shopping has become? There are so many sections you can just pass right by
No bread, cakes, pies, cookies
No crackers, cereal, chips :'( ,noodles, rice
no cheese, milk, yogourt, icecream
no frozen pizza, lasagna, breaded meats/fish,frozen dinners
no juice, softdrinks, and other sugar filled beverages
So here it is (for me anyway)Meat, Vegies, Fruit
Choose a few items from meat/poultry, seafood departments:
beef, chicken, turkey, ham, veal, steak, roast, pork, fish fillets(frozen), shellfish(frozen or canned shrimp), salmon, tuna, eggs and more
Choose some vegies, fresh or frozen:
brocolli, cauliflour, lettuce, cucumbers, peppers, celery, tomatoes, and so many more
Choose a few fruits:
bananas, apples, avocados,berries,kiwis, pineapple etc
Still lots of options but only a few areas to shop from. So much simpler, healthier and cheaper too!
I drink a little coffee in the morning and water after that. Too easy ;D

I was already getting a name for myself as the crazy meat lady (my dog and two cats all eat raw so I regularly buy 10 packs of discount meat and nothing else haha), now I've gone paleo and wanna get more meat for myself too... Ah well, there's so many other crazy people in this neighbourhood, maybe the "crazy" label will actually help me stand out less :P

I have to say though, I feel like I'm forgetting something when I only go to the fruit & veg, egg and meat sections. Chocolate probably, chocolate and cookie dough ice cream...

I can't even remember any more what they sell in all those "middle aisles"!

I agree with everything said.  So much easier!

My philosophy:  Shop from the outside parimeter and make the cashier work for their money.  If they don't have to type in code after code, then you're doing it wrong!  :D
