One of the benefits (or hazards, depending on your point of view) of the recession and reduced city or county budgets is the discontinuance of water fluoridation.

In this day and age, when 50%+ of the population drinks bottled water and fluoride is in every single mouth care product on the market, who the heck needs it in their water? It was never meant to be taken internally anyway. All of the dentists and healthcare professionals moaning about it don't kick up a fuss when junk food is marketed to kids, but OMG stop fluoridating water? Madness!

This is a smart move in an otherwise poorly-managed county. They re-do the road medians every few years, changing it to straight concrete, then tearing it up and planting shrubs and palm trees. Then in a few years they tear up the shrubs and grass, and fill it all in with concrete again. They are retards with taxpayer money.

It's like drinking sunblock to avoid sunburn.
