Merry Christmas!
« on: December 24, 2011, 01:50:40 PM »
I hope all you who celebrate have a great holiday!

Feel free to share your Christmas traditions, a funny store from the past, or just post a holiday pic.  I'll start:

Eat, drink and be merry.    :D    We had a fabulous beef rib roast done in the charcoal kettle BBQ, accompanied by stacks of veges slathered in cultured butter with herbs. Dessert was home-made chocolate mousse and vanilla ice-cream (both low sugar, regular sugar tastes horrible now) and piles of fresh raspberries. Yum! I think later this evening I shall have an espresso and a glass of port. I'll worry about strict paleo in about, oh, a week.

And remember, dancing and shagging are all the exercise you need today.

Your meal sounds great.  I just got an espresso maker as a Christmas gift, any tips?

I'll shag tonight if one of us doesn't fall asleep first.  Might be me since I was up until 1am Christmas Eve making a small piece of furniture.

Here's my funny pic of the day:

Merry Christmas.

My contribution to Christmas dinner was:

- Korean beef stew using short ribs with shiitake mushrooms
- Raw fish ceviche (hasa hasa) in special japanese vinegar + fish roe

My father in law contributed Majestic pork ham (not reconstituted crap)

I'm on Raw Paleo diet but I have kids to feed on cooked paleo diet.

Eric, if you didn't get one with your espresso machine, buy a good tamper. You can get one for cheap at Bed Bath & Beyond. Use about 30lbs of pressure to tamp down the grounds into the little brew cup.

Went with the family to Manhattan and, as usual,  saw the holiday windows, ended up in Greenwich Village and ate at Sammy's Noodle Shop-we ate as paleo as we could (shrimp and broccoli and bbqed spare ribs) beautiful day!

Good Morning day after Christmas. I am now officially in recovery mode from the dietary debauchery that started Thanksgiving day.

I've stayed fairly strict paleo and not had alcohol for 2 weeks now - think I'll keep on not having it... big plate of grilled prawns followed by roast leg of kid (1 each) and broccoli for Christmas Eve dinner

I hope everyone had a good holiday.

I stayed strictly paleo even though we had Christmas dinner with a friend of my brother's who probably has never heard of paleo.  My wife succumbed to some nonpaleo snacks and had a major headache for the rest of the night.

I got a little Bialetti stovetop unit.  Pretty sure instructions said don't compress the ground.

Maybe I'm wrong.  Thoughts?
