Paleo baby
« on: September 27, 2010, 01:23:02 PM »
My 7 month old son Duncan had his first taste of steak on Friday.  We gave him teeny tiny bits of steak that were essentialy raw, since they were from the inside of a rare steak.

Later in the meal, while the rest of the family was eating, he made hungry sounds.  My wife tried nursing him, but he wouldn't nurse.  Instead, he reached out, straining towards her steak instead!

He made a face when my wife tried to fob off some strawberry on him instead, too.  Clearly this kid thinks paleo means carnivory.

I was just thinking about this the other day when I read some veggie blogger saying something like: "Put an apple and a steak in front of a baby and see which one he goes for." Your baby's instincts are probably a clue...

He sure sounds like a paleo baby and will grow up to be a real paleo man!! This diet seems to be really catching up and I really like what I see and hear about this way of life and with people getting so health conscious, they will follow any diet which they feel will help them to lead a healthy and disease free life!! I am sure that this way of life is really going to spread fast!!

Our little guy just started eating (6 months) recently.  He seems to prefer the less sweet stuff too which I find cool.  Prefers avocado over fruits, etc.

We didn't feed our son paleo at this time but we did give him steak early on :) THe pictures are priceless, I just had to share. He gummed this thing to mush and loved every second of it. He got all he could out of it I am sure as it was gray and gross at the end! I think the photos are hilarious  ;D

The savory taste must be novel to him.  I hope he likes his veggies!
