We're not talking small amounts.... this is full blown chemical warefare!

I think I may try fitting in a bit of white rice the next few days instead of the bajillion bananas I've been eating every day. Seems like I get carb-starved and immediately eat a banana... or an apple. Dates & raisins are another go-to for me.

I have that exact knife as well as a few smaller Victorinox as well as few boning knives. Can't beat 'em as far as value is concerned!



Great knives are important, especially when you deal with a lot of meats, vegetables, and fruits (i.e. REAL food!).

Currently I'm using this great Victorinox 8 inch Chef's knife.  It's the top rated and best selling chef's knife on Amazon for a reason.  The price is right, at under $35 which I like.  It's VERY sharp and cuts precisely.  Would also make a great gift for a loved one or friend who knows how to cook without a microwave :)

If your budget is a little higher, I'd recommend this Wusthof Classic 8-Inch Cook's Knife.  There are folks who've used theirs for 20-30 years, so this may be cheaper in the long run.  Amazing reviews as well, and a top seller.

.... and constipation! Not sure why, but comes and goes. I've been doing Paleo over 2 years now. It appears that every few months or so things get "locked up" and I get horrible gas and some noticeable bloating. Usually this lasts a few days to a whole week. I eat lots of fresh/dried fruit throughout the day, never try anything strange or different.

Any ideas to prevent this, or at least treat it when it does happen?

I don't count anything!! And no, I am not diabetic. Had blood work done to prove that.

You ask for help and are't willing to put even basic work to receive it?


And by the way, the point of the story was not to imply you had diabetes, it's that what you think is conducive to your desired goal  is not always in line with whats actually conducive to your goal.

Sorry, wasn't trying to be a jerk. Took your reply wrong.

It looks like I am doing an average of 30-ish grams of carbs/day while my protein is more like 150+. I discovered I am gluten-intolerant so I am real careful what I eat. I guess that would make my carbs an average of 20% of my intake. I snack on dates (huge carbs there!) but hard boiled eggs have been my go to snack.

I'm at week 8 and my eating has changed big time. I keep healthy snacks around, my meals are really plain. Hard boiled eggs, dates, fresh veggies. Right now, I consume about 6 hard-boiled eggs a day, maybe two tomatoes (in season), and some misc. fruit. But then I have another 20+ pounds to drop, too!!

I drink a lot of water and I put a tablespoon of Bragg's ACV in my water twice a day. Been doing so for a few years. Since going Paleo, I found out I am gluten intolerant and whenever I do have something I shouldn't, my sinuses drain and I get a sore throat. ACV helps with that a lot.

Hi folks, nice site you have here, glad I found it. I am 8 weeks into Paleo. I struggles with chronic fatigue for many years.... like bag. I have not been able to drive after dark by myself for fear of falling alseep!! I am short at 5' 2". Had high BP and weighed in at 187 when I started Paleo. I was 135-ish when I got married 17 years ago!

Anyways, been eating pretty clean with a cheat meal every 2 weeks, nothing far out. I have been hovering around the 170 mark for the past two weeks. What going on? There's a few ladies I work with that eat paleo and they told me not to worry about it, worry about how I feel, etc. They also thought maybe I am not eating enough?? Never heard of that one.

Is this normal? Weight loss was a steady 2-3 pounds/week until now.

Just ending week 8! Down some pounds, but got a ways to go.

I'm from rural Pennsylvania, and glad I found this site.
