Introductions / Hello from Lake Havasu AZ
« on: July 17, 2018, 08:08:10 AM »
Hi, Bearso here.  Just getting back into paleo and working out.  Since last time I was here I had both hips replaced and the wife divorced me and I moved from San Diego to Lake Havasu....so starting over.  Weight is not a problem but with 2 torn rotator cuffs, upper body work out is tough.  I joined a gym and will start light and work up on my shoulders, the rest is fine to push a bit.

Progress Reports & Photos / Insomnia Update
« on: April 11, 2011, 01:57:18 PM »
Well we are right at 30 days from my household putting the kibosh on alcohol.  I was suffering pretty badly with insomnia and was getting only a few hours sleep each night...That lasted almost forever it seemed until this past weekend.  Now I seem to sleep normal again.  I never was one to fall asleep right away like my wife but I tend to be awake for 1/2 hour to one hour then fall asleep.  Well, I am more than happy to say that pattern has returned.  I am  no longer a sleepy caveman.  Also not longer an alcoholic caveman... +2 for me!!!!  :) :D ;D

Diet and nutrition / Bad Caveman
« on: March 02, 2011, 10:50:46 AM »
I was a bad caveman and paid for it.  Last night my wife invited me to join her for some drinks at a Mexican cantina after work.  So I go over there to have a beer and tortillaless tacos when I spy stuffed jalapenos on the menu.  I ordered them and ate 4 of them...  This morning I thought I was GOING TO DIE!  My gut cramped up and I broke out in a cold sweat, my head was spinning and I almost threw-up.  What came out of me was as foul as anything I could describe.  I thought for sure I was calling in sick today.  Well, after a bit of time and a nice shower, I felt 1/2 human and made it to work but I still feel only 1/2 human.  You would think that after eating caveman for almost a full year, I would be smarter than that.  Please learn from my mistake and don't ever eat those damn things...

Diet and nutrition / Omega 3 to omega 6 ratio
« on: January 23, 2011, 12:00:28 PM »
Just a weird thought….I wonder if you ate a caveman/Paleo eater vs eating a modern man SAD eater….would the caveman be better for you since he should have a better omega 3 to omega 6 ratio?  ;D  ???  ::)

Miscellaneous / What's on your Christmas menu?
« on: December 19, 2010, 04:56:43 PM »
O.K. Christmas feast menu is, New York Loin Roast with Mushroom/ brandy sauce, plus roasted Pork Loin with Port Cherry sauce. Sides will be roasted winter root veggies, a squash medley, and for the non-Paleo roasted fingerling and baby red potatoes. We will have all the extras such as appies and dessert. Should be O.K. for the 26 people coming over....

Yes, I will bend the rules somewhat with my sauces and the meat is not grass fed but this is what it is.  We will enjoy what we have... Peace and happiness to you and yours!  Have a Merry Christmas to all the Caveman Forum members, man, woman, and child... I just finished my Christmas shopping and feeling the season...
