Food Journals / Claires 2nd attempt :)
« on: September 17, 2010, 02:36:11 AM »
Ok so this is my second stab at Paleo. My first attempt went brilliantly then stress kicked in thanks to work and the comfort eating kicked in!! My particular favourite comfort food being dominoes pizza  :-\  I started around 76 kilos and my goal weight is 63kilos. I think its been a pretty successful week food wise but unfortunately I have managed to get through about 3 bottles of red wine and a couple of beers in addition to this :(
I do an hour of cardio work and an hour of weights in the gym every day.

Apple Banana and Orange

mixed nuts/dried fruit

Chicken Salad (spinach, radish, beetroot, plum tomatoes, chickn and dessertspoon of walnut oil)

Diet and nutrition / Tuna
« on: August 24, 2010, 05:57:00 AM »
Tuna has become a huge staple of my diet lately, as Ive been having it in salad for lunch pretty much daily. Now an ex nurse at my work has mentioned that I should not be eating so much because of a high mercury content! Is this genuinely something to worry about, what are the effects?

Are these ok if i can find them organic, or are we talking way to many additives?? i do love a good bolognaise and i find using fresh tomatoes doesnt quite work!

Having just started this diet and read around this forum I am now completely baffled as to what I should and should not be eating. So many things seem to contradict each other, please please could you clear things up for me and reccomend the best things for me to be eating????

Thanks in advance,

Introductions / Hi from the uk

Hi everyone, Im 3 days into the paleo diet and having tried every diet under the sun im really hoping this one works. It certainly makes sense. I train very hard in the gym but still never manage to shift the excess body fat  >:( so frustrating! I feel pretty good so far, if a little tired by the time i get to the gym, i guess this is normal to start with though? Milk is proving to be the thing i miss most, especially not being able to have my evening glass of wine, i cant even replace it with a tea/coffee. Any suggestions for a nice warm comforting evening drink would be greatly appreciated.

Just one more question, Ive seen a lot of recipees for mayonaise! I finind it really strange to be allowed mayo on a diet, I love the stuff but my hips and thighs are nervous at the thought ???
