Besides better health, what are some weird side effects you've noticed? Things you wouldn't expect...-I can't chew gum for more than 5 minutes. Used to chew for hours on end.- On low-carb and paleo, my breasts get bigger. I lost 50 lbs a few years ago and they stayed the same size. Hormones, maybe?- I'm hot all the time. - My hair looks greasy in the morning. It's gross.

My boyfriend is slowly coming around - has HFCS out of his diet  when he can - and wants to go paleo soon. He has a problem gaining fat. (Muscle gain okay for him.) His BF is under 2%. He also needs a nice fat layer as a buffer when he starts an absolutely necessary medical  regimen soon, during which he'll probably lose 20 pounds. He's 6'3" and about 170 lbs.Does anyone have experience with this?I was thinking meat, veg, and a tuber and milk at every meal, with lots of nuts daily and good chocolate a few times a week.(I just want him off grains and non-fruit sugar, really.)Any fat-gaining tips?

Larabars.Lemon bar: dates, cashews, almonds, lemon juice concentrate, natural lemon flavorChocolate coconut chew: dates, almonds, walnuts, unsweetened coconut powder, unsweetened coconut220 & 240 cals, with 28 & 29 carbs. I'd eat one maybe three times a month as a treat.

So I've made the switch from heavy cream to coconut milk.I cannot keep it in the refrigerator without it separating; does anyone have any tips about keeping it thin & easier to use in my coffee?

The point of my keeping a workout journal is to voluntarily subject myself to group shaming.I'm healthy, and need to feel embarassed about my laziness. Today's workout: slow stroll to library and back, total 6/10 of a mile.

Yesterday:am: lots of coffee w/ coconut milk7pm: rare steak, pot roast, small salad, sliver of cheesecake @ a buffet1am: can of tuna, 1 tb mayoToday: am: coffee & coconut milk7pm: three eggs, 1 tb butter, 2 oz cheeseCheesecake was a very bad idea, and the cheese in my diet is just until it runs out.I'm out of work, broke, and eating paleo is a challenge. Thankfully on this woe small amounts of food keep me satisfied/full of energy.

Hello all. Fairly new to this WOE, but I've been a low carber off and on since about 2004.I'm finishing up the non-paleo food left in my house (just cheese and green beans at this point) and have decided that life's too short not to eat butter or mayo. I've lost a pound or two in the last week, and of course my energy level and moods are fantastic.
