Thanks for sharing Kem.. will try the recipes here :-) Re : whether you are grain free or into strict paleo... it doesn't really matter for as long as you body feels good and good about what you eat, as compared to before, then there is really nothing wrong about your practice. I have a more liberal point of view about paleo- one doesn't have to be dogmatic about it. I admit I give in to cravings and "cheat" every now and then. That is why I have high respect for those who can strictly follow a paleo diet.

Thank you for bringing this up.. I have two kids who I am planning to shift to paleo but I really am having a difficult time doing it because the won't give up the carbs ( rice) that they have gotten used. Hubby and I just switched to paleo last year, but I am trying to make it a family lifestyle. Thanks for the tips, maybe we can do what you suggest should we plan to have a third child. :-)

I have a friend who introduced me to this kind of diet. Her intention on going into paleo is she wanted to lose weight. I was amazed as to how she was able to do it, for she was quite obese before trying paleo. I got interested and researched on it. During my research and readings, I found out how my unhealthy my diet is which consists of majority processed foods and take outs from fast food stores. It was not my intention to lose weight because I am blessed with a lean body, but it was my desire to live longer by eating healthy foods that prompted me to change my eating habits. I was convinced that paleo is the answer to a healthy lifestyle.

I allow myself to cheat every now and then.. those cravings for non paleo food I think is ok. On my part I think of it as a reward for something that I have done good so I don't feel much guilty about it. Once a month cheat is pretty much normal. :-)

This is a very informative post. I remember I have the picture you posted about what is non paleo and what paleo on my fridge when I was just starting on paleo. Sometimes It's difficult getting used to a new routine, especially if we have been accustomed to eating anything we see inside our fridge. Paleo is not just a diet, but to be effective it has to be a lifestyle.

Skipping breakfast is a no no for me... it's the most important meal of the day. Even to those who would like to lose weight, breakfast is still recommended. In my case I usually don't miss breakfast because it makes me feel full until lunch and wouldnt have to nibble snacks in  between.

Yes, coconut water is perfectly paleo... but make sure it is 100% fresh coconut, not those concentrate or juice drinks you get to buy in supermarkets. Pure, natural coconut water is definitely low in sugar. Here's an article that you can read if you need to know more about the benefits of coconut water, in fact some would find it helpful in weight loss as well.

Hi! I am also new in paleo as I've started about a four months ago. I was attracted to this diet not because I want to lose weight but more because I want to take charge of my body and live a truly healthy lifestyle. A friend who is into crossfit introduced me to Paleo. I am joining this community to learn more and at the same time share with you guys my struggles as well as "triumphs" in my journey towards a healthier lifestyle.
