Made this last night:

Came out well, I used coconut milk, a tiny bit of arrow root and almond milk.  I sauteed the onion first in some pig fat.  I felt it was a little bland though (I went low sodium for the broth, since ya know, ham)... I think if I were to do it again I'd add some bay leaves and perhaps thyme.

Anyway, back now, back down a bit in weight

Coffee with Almond milk
2 eggs
An Apple

Half a grilled bison steak
A salad of spinach and baby carrots. Dressed in BISONS BLOOD \m/ (well, meat drippings).

Tilapia. A bit undercooked.  Cooking on wood charcoal (real wood charcoal) is a fucking art.
Carrots and grape tomatoes with a bit of olive oil (raw/cold)

I grilled a fuckton of meat. My dog was staring the whole time salivating.

Huge shopping trip at Wholefoods.  I decided the easiest thing is to keep it simple:
Protein and salad ingredients. 

For protein:
2 lbs of tilapia
1.5 lbs of chicken breasts
1 lb of pork cutlets
A swordfish steak (frozen)
About a 3/4 lb Bison steak

For Salad:
Spring greens, Spinach, Celery, Baby Carrots, Cherry Tomatoes, Cucumbers, Beets

For snacks:

To Curb my 'thirst' (instead of booze)
Izzie softdrinks and Kombucha. Probably replace the Izzie's with club soda and and a little fruit next week, but one soda is better than 6 beers :P

I bought some some Jamacian Jerk for the pork and 'Chick Magnet' rub for the chicken.  I'm planning on cooking almost all of it today for the week, except for the seafood and half the chicken. I froze 1.5 lbs of the seafood, and one package of chicken breasts.  This way, easy food,  no need to cook during week hopefully.

Well, went off Paleo for a bit, was backpacking in Vermont.  Gained a few lbs.  Now I'm back.

Think it depends, if your primary goal is weight loss, probably not a good idea.

If you are an athlete, particularly a cardio/endurance athlete for recovery they will be very helpful.

ah well, when I cheat I eat like a fucking cow worth of cheese, so I'm not going to get too anal.

That meat ball curry came out well! I think the recipe would benefit with putting some basil in the curry itself, and perhaps some lime juice?

I'm pretty sure all bacon has it unless you're getting it fresh from the pig.  Even the non-nitrate brands I can find in the states have celery salt, which is just a natural form of sodium nitrate.

 The last post is good, lots of alternatives with fruits, veggies et.c.. And let me add that smoked foods like bacon are cancerogenic and not safe to eat. I would not even call them paleo.

I've heard of some studies that even traditional cooking of meat products a lot of cancer causing byproducts, hence the higher rate in meat eaters in some studies.

Some have used this as reasoning to stop eating meat.  Personally, I'm thinking more Sashami and Steak tartar.   I'll call it the RAWR diet.

I was um.. a little bit hungry.

Dinner? I find if I eat a ton of food at 10am, I am fine until about 5pm.  Odd, if I eat regular amounts at 7am and noon I am starving by 5pm.  I did an hour of cardio today and I'm still not particularly hungry, just figure I should start diner before it sets in.

No onion (apparently I forgot to buy enough!) more garlic, no salt (had enough this morning) and ground beef.

So, this recipe lists European units.  Which explains the 200 degree oven.  I said ok, 400 degrees.  Traditional roasted stuffed pepper is usually like 375-425ish.

Now we all know what happens to Olive Oil at 400 degrees right?  Ugh.  I should become the Foodee recipe tester.


Not very good. Quite bland.  The reason is not the lack of salt.  The reason is adding water and then boiling it off.  The cauliflower is going to retain a shit-ton of water, and it is going to come out when you bake.  Also at this point you're basically boiling meat, which unless you're making a stew, stock or curry should be against the law.

Personally I'd love to have time to make bacon and eggs every morning.  The salt even in uncured bacon is still only part of what we need each day.

Been getting up at 6, usually dont get into work until 8:30 or 9 so I've got time, plus I usually multi-task.. throw the bacon on, feed the dog, let him out etc.  But honestly bacon and eggs every day gets old (I know, it's hard to believe bacon ever gets old).
