Well I've never stuck to a diet this long before...or lifestyle change.. In saying that, Xmas was a washout... We had family here and decided to forgo paleo for a few days. So I ate chips, and cheesecake and chocolates and even pizza etc. Only thing I really enjoyed was the chocolates, although not all of them. Things just didnt taste the same.
My paleo diet hasnt been 100%. I still have my coffee with zymil milk once a day. I put up with the belly grumblings. We also like the 85% chocolate from Lindt. And we make a few cakes for our sweet tooth with almond meal etc. When we have been stuck without paleo on the road, or due to circumstances, I'll admit we go to Maccas. I will order the big beef burger with no cheese, and throw the buns away. Except for xmas I've really found it hard to break paleo, I talk myself out of it. And the other cheat I have is apple turnover with fresh cream...in times of great stress!!! But Ive even gone off them now.
Our diet still consists of mostly roast lamb, fish, chicken, eggs, veggies, fruit and we consume quite a few nuts. We have beef occasionally but have only just found grass fed beef near us and its super expensive. We're working on it.
I've had my bloods done and my cholesterol was up but my doc said my good cholesterol was up so it wasn't a 'bad' report. He said he'll keep an eye on it.
My constipation problem goes when I'm strictly paleo. The last few days it was broken with sugars as I had a colonoscopy and banding and the diet didnt leave much paleo options. The last two days being liquid only and that was mainly lemonade and water. Also jellies the day before, so my sugars have taken a hit in the last few days. I was discharged this evening with instructions to follow a 'high fibre diet'. I said yes I will, plenty of fruit and veggies.
My weight when i started was around 73kg give or take I think. Im currently about 56kg. That was a bit lower but I felt too low and I've had trouble actually keeping the weight on. Hubby is still on paleo with me, 6 mths for him. He has more fruits and breaks it with sweet potato etc as he does triathlons and crossfit.
I ran my first 10k marathon in October and finished in just over an hour (I think it was closer to 11km). I did have 'runners diarrhoea' afterwards but thats a huge achievement for me. I havent run since though because of the things I had to get fixed today.
We have only managed to convert one of our daughters to Paleo and she is only new and struggling with it as she doesnt like a lot of things on the diet. We'll see how she goes.
All in all Paleo has made me lose weight, get regular toilet habits, nose congestion disappears, I got fitter, and I can taste foods.

Any thoughts welcome, even telling me about how naughty I still am. Oh and I've converted quite a few friends now to Paleo
